Model 27958GE 1-A Handset stopped working. Base

Model 27958GE 1-A Handset stopped working. Base light is on and battery is good but does not respond when I press "talk". I have linked it to the base several times but it still does nothing.

SOMETIMES IT MAY REGISTER AS THE BATTERY WORKS BUT IT IS DRAINED OUT TRY TO CHANGE THE BATTERY AND ONLY CHARGE IT WEN THE BATTERY IS AT THE POINT OF EMPTY OVER CHARGING WILL DRAIN THE BATTERY HOPE THIS WORKS FOR U

3 of my 5 phones say "No Line"?


This sounds like a registration problem, the errant
handset(s) and the base have lost identification
with each other.

NOTE: the CS6429 works a maximum of 5
handsets, so you have a "fully populated system".

You will have to clear each handset ( I ) then clear
the base of all registrations ( II ) before re-registering
each handset ( III ).
=====================================
( I ). First de-register each handset ---

0. Start by taking off the battery compartment cover.

1. press [menu]
2. scroll up/down to "Settings"
3. enter * 7 8 9 0 #
4. scroll down to "next page", press [select]
5. scroll down to "Register Clear?", press [select]
6. display asks "Confirm?" or "Register Clear??",
press [select]
7. display reads "Ok" and chirps, press [ off ]

8. UNPLUG THE HANDSET BATTERY
(this is why the cover was off)

9. Wait ~30 seconds, re-connect the battery &
replace the cover

10. display reads "Not Registered"

( II.) To clear the base of all handset registrations

1. press [Find Handset] on the base and hold
past ~4 sec when the "In Use" lamp lights, at
about 10 secs the "In Use" lamp will begin to
blink. 2. release the [Find Handset] button momentarily,
then briefly press it again. After a moment,
all handsets that were registered to the base
(if any) will display "Not Registered" and be
ready for fresh registration ===============================

( III.) To register each handset to the base:

1. press [Find Handset] on the base and hold for
~4 sec until the "In Use" lamp lights.
2. press # on the handset and set the handset into
the handset cradle on the base
3. within 30 seconds or so, the handset will either
chirp and display "Handset Registered", then
"Handset #x" or it will say "Registration Failed".

NOTE: the battery must be well charged prior to the
registration process, a weak battery may cause a
"Registration Failed". Charge the battery for a
few hours and try the registration ( III ) again.

How To Reset and Re-Register Your Uniden Handset and Base


<b>Clear the Handset's Base Data<br /></b>1.To remove the base data from a handset when out of range of the base, press and hold the 'end' button and the '#' button simultaneously until the phone beeps.<br />2.It will now be de-registered from the base.<br />Note: This requires that the base and handset can communicate with each other.<br /> <br /> <b>Clear the Base Handset Data</b><br />1.To de-register all handsets from the base, remove power to the base, and remove the handset from the base.<br />2.Press and hold the 'flash/find hs' button while applying power.<br />3.Wait for the beep and release the button.<br />4.The charge light will now flash.<br />5.Sit any handset in the cradle.<br />6.When the flashing stops, re-register the handsets to the base.<br /> <br /> <b>Re-Register a Handset to the Base<br /></b>1. Hand set says connecting even before it is reset with new base.


This sounds like a registration problem, each 'old'
handset must be de-registered from its original
base and then registered to the 'new' base.

NOTE: the CS6229 handles a maximum of 5
handsets. If you have a handset displaying
"Handset #5" then you have a 'fully populated system'
even if you actually have only one or two handsets.

You will need to clear each handset ( I ) then clear
the base of all registrations ( II ) before re-registering
each handset ( III ) up to the maximum of five.

( I ). First, to de-register a handset ---

Engenius handsets won't respond


Will likly cost more to repair that replace. Sorry, that is the way our society is today....throw away what dosen't work.

One handset on my uniden dxa13288-2 does not work. The battery is charged and good (swapped with other unit). When placed in masterbase, base led flashes, indicating good data marriage on both. The good...


The handset for this unit registers automatically to the base. The main base sync with the handset but it does not respond. The handset that is not responding has a problem and should to be replaced. You can pick one up on eBay for a few bucks.

No dial tone on hand set battery is new lights up


Make sure your connection to the phone jack is secure.
Use another wired phone to make sure connection is good to your phone.
Secure connection in back of phone, and plug it in. The base MUST have power to transmit the signal to the handset even if the handset has a fresh charge.
Although the handset is normally linked to the bases, check to make sure via the instructions. To determine if the base recognizes the handset, press the "LOCATE HANDSET" button.
If the hadset responds, the links is there.

This fixed mine:

To fix this issue:

1. Unplug the Unit
2. Unplug the Phone Cord
3. Disconnect the Battery from the Handset
4. Wait 10-15 minutes… and put back together in Reverse Order
5. Connect the Handset Battery
6. Plug-in the Phone Cord
7. Plug-in the Unit

Vtech,5.8 3-phone w/digital recorder, model DS4122-3 None of the phones work they either say connecting or put back in the charger . these are only 2 months old?


To deregister ALL handsets:
Step 1: Press and hold FIND HANDSET on the main telephone base for 10 seconds.

Step 2: When the IN USE light starts to flash, release the FIND HANDSET button.

Step 3: Press and release FIND HANDSET again. The IN USE light will turn off and in a few seconds, all handsets will be de-registered.

Step 4: All handsets will show NOT REGISTERED.

To register a handset (register 1 handset at a time):
Step 1: Place the handset in the base unit or a charger that is connected to a power outlet. If PRESS FIND HNDST 4 SEC ON BASE does not appear on the screen after a few seconds, lift up handset and place in base or charger again.

Step 2: On the telephone base, press and hold FIND HANDSET for four seconds. Release FIND HANDSET once the IN USE light comes on.

After a while the handset will emit a series of tones, the newly registered handset will be assigned the lowest extension number not previously assigned to another system handset (1-4) when successfully registered. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 if the handset does not successfully register to the telephone base within two minutes.

REPEAT THE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR EACH SYSTEM HANDSET.

Make sure the handsets are not receiving interference from other appliances, cell phones, etc.

IF deregistering does not work .. you will need to reset the entire system
Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base.

Step 2: Disconnect the handset battery.

Step 3: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base.

Step 4: Reconnect the handset battery

Step 5: Wait about one minute for the handset to re-establish a link with the telephone base and then test the phone again.
You will need to set the time and date again after resetting the entire system.

FROM PAGE 38 of the manual:

If "No link to base. Move closer to base, try again" is displayed, even when using the handset near the base unit, the handset may have lost communication with the base unit. You need to re-register the handset to the base unit..
HAVE BOTH THE HANDSET AND THE BASE UNIT NEARBY DURING REGISTRATION.
FOLLOW STEPS 1 AND 2 LISTED BELOW. YOU HAVE ABOUT 1 MINUTE TO COMPLETE THEM.

1-Base unit:
Press and hold [HANDSET LOCATOR] until the CHARGE indicator flashes.
2-Handset:
Press and hold [FLASH/CALL WAIT] until "Handset Registering" is displayed.
-When registration is complete, a beep sounds from the handset.
-Wait for 20 seconds after registration is complete while the handset establishes communication with the base unit.

If... the handset beeps three times and "ERROR!" is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
You can stop registration by pressing [OFF] on the handset, and pressing [HANDSET LOCATOR] on the base unit.

Tip 1 of 2 Recradle the handset for 15 seconds, then lift the handset and press PHONE. Tip 2 of 2 If the handset is not responding normally, you may need to reset your telephone system. Complete the following steps to reset the telephone system: Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base. Step 2: Disconnect the handset battery. Step 3: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base. Step 4: Reconnect the handset battery Step 5: Wait about one minute for the handset to re-establish a link with the telephone base and then test the phone again. If that does not work, call the manufacture at 1-800-595-9511. Or take it back to where you purchased it and have then exchange it.
