Microsoft Windows 7 Release Candidate RC is available as a free download, here's how to get it.
You don't have to be a beta tester to download Windows 7 RC. I've included a direct link below along with some tips that you should know about after downloading the OS.

b> Remember that this is "Pre release" software meaning that you are essentially testing the software for Microsoft since your version will send data back to MS. Release candidates are usually stable and but you should back up your PC just in case. Windows 7 RC will expire on June 1, 2010 There is no technical support, so you'll be relying on online forums. Minimum PC requirements are;
1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics processor with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver. A link to the Windows 7 Upgrade Adviser is listed below. According to Microsoft this will "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor scans your PC's system, programs and devices to check if it's able to run Windows 7. After a few minutes, the report will let you know if your PC meets the system requirements, if there are any known compatibility issues with your programs and devices, and will also provide guidance on your upgrade options to Windows 7."

Go online to the Microsoft download center (see Below).
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en Locate the text box labeled "Top Downloads For." Select the drop-down list beside it and select "System Tools." Click on the "Go" button. The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor will be available as one of the entries in the result. Click the link for the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. You'll get a page where you can download the advisor. Press the "Download" button. You will be prompted to save or open the file. Select "Save" and specify a folder where the installer can be placed. The download should commence. Wait for the download to complete. Open a file browser window to make sure the file is available. Now your advisor is ready to be installed. Install and run the advisor by double-clicking on its desktop icon. If your computer meets the requirements, on screen instructions will direct you on how to download the new operating system for free (after Oct. 22, 2009). Simply submit your requested information and await your upgrade confirmation.
