Ice maker not working

We empied the ice bucket yesterday and the icemaker hasn't worked since. Could it be that we accidentally turned it off? Not sure how it works as we bought a floor model and do not have an owners' manual.

Just emptying the ice bucket shouldn't cause it to quit. Usually, the icemaker has a long rod along the side of it to turn it off when you are going to take the bucket out.Usually, you lift it up for "off" and let it down for "on". Check the position of the rod.

Is it OK for ice thickener sensor touch water on ice maker

Yes, it has to touch the water. As the ice builds up the thickness sensor moves up and turns of the refrigeration and turns the heater on.

Whirlpool model # ed5vhexvq1 side by side ...ice maker will not dispense ice..water works but it sounds as if there is no power going to icemaker from dispenser

Does the icemaker bucket has ice cubes. If yes then your problem is in the dispensor. If no ice cubes on the icemaker bucket then your problem is with the ice maker unit.

Let say Ice cubes on the ice maker bucket and dispensor makes noise when pressing for ice cubes. Then either your ice dispensor flapper is frozen or may be ice cubes in bucket may have defrost and frozen again sticking together.

    Ice maker doesn't work

    Testing the ice maker:
As far as the smaller line (1/4") you have to manually advance the ice maker and wait for it to call for water with the 1/4" line disconnected from the valve. For whirlpool and its subsidaries, you can do this by getting a jumper wire, removing the cover of icemaker, which you jsut grab and pull off, and using the jumper wire insert one end of the wire into the cirle marked m and the other in the cicle marked n. Leave there until you hear a click and sometimes see a little spark behind the modular head wheel. For GE, you turtn the ice maker off, wait about a minute then turn back on, water should automatically shoot water in the icemaker. That will tell you the water valve is good and icemaker is bad, or the ice maker is good and the valve is bad if no water. Also if you see ice in the maker that hasn't dumper and the teeth of the icemaker are facing any direction other than two o clock position, the icemaker is bad. Also check the fill tube to be sure the no ice is blocking water from coming in.

Ice maker problem. Ice barely comes out of the door dispenser.

ok first thing to check is that you dont have a jam inside the ice bucket, folowing confirmation of this working the next thing you want to check is tat the auger motor is working on the door this is motor part located on the door tat spins the gear like object inside the bucket allowing ice to come out following confirmation that this is working properly the next thing to check is that you ice maker is functioning properly stick you finger inside the ice maker tray to assure that you are getting water on the inside if there is ice on the inside you might want to remove the ice maker and run it under hot water to defrost the unit and check after you reinstall if this has fixed the problem if this still hasnt fixed your ice maker problem then you might just want to goto marcone appliance parts online and order yourslef a new icemaker there are no repairs done to fix the icemaker it is a cheap part that is easily installed make sure when you remove the icemaker you look at the plastic arm that goes along the side that it is in the proper position if not it wont push the ice out of the tray properly hope this helps

It's very possible that the water inlet valve isn't cutting off completely. I had that to happen on mine.

Ice maker quit water line works intermittingly

icemaker quite? hire a new icemaker. industry joke sorry.
First things first, is it cooling ok? if yes then proceed.
im assuming it stopped making ice altogether, and not a matter of making ice but not dispensing.

If your ice bucket is located in the door itself, you have an electric eye icemaker system, which electronically determines if the bucket is full or not. this electric eye system, located on both side walls of freezer, consist of a transmitter board and a receiver board. you could have a problem with these boards, the icemaker itself, a bad water valve, or depending on the model year, a icemaker fill line that can get clogged with ice, but due to a faulty design, a fill tube heater must be installed.

if your bucket is not in the door, but located directly beneath the icemaker, then disregard the electric eye system info and the fill tube heater info as well.

My icemaker isn't working. There's no water in the trays and it doesn't sound like it's trying. The model is tbx18ci.

Not sure what setup your ice maker has to let it know when the ice tray is full, but some ice makers have a bail that goes up with rising ice levels. When the ice bucket fills up, the ice maker shuts down.

Lifting the bail up all the way until it catches on a small ledge turns this type ice maker off. If ice is allowed to stack in the bucket too high, or is shoved back as someone scooped out ice, the bail may inadvertently have been pushed onto the ledge.

Bottom line; check whatever method your ice maker uses to turn off ice production when the bucket is full to see if it is in the OFF position.

    Ice maker not working

    Hello.

First of all you need make sure that your freezer is freezing enough. Sometimes everything will seem to be freezing ok, but it won’t be cold enough to make the icemaker work. The best way is to squeeze your ice cream, if you have any that is.

Then you need to make sure that the ice level sensing arm is in the down/on position.
Also make sure that the ice bucket is positioned properly so as to trigger the ice bucket sensing switch.

If all of this checks out ok, let me know and I can guide you through an icemaker diagnosis by forcing it into a harvest mode.

Sub-Zero 632 Ice Maker Leaking into Ice Bucket

Ice Maker is overflowing and leaking into the ice bucket: There are several things to check for.
Go for the easy stuff first, make sure the icemaker is level, some of the plastic liner fridge's will move and allow the icemaker to tilt over and leak. Other troublemakers..... the fill valve
staying on and over filling the icemaker..... the finish sometimes comes off the icemaker body and all the ice cubes don't come out. This will allow the new water to fill on top of an icemaker
that still has a ice cube or two left inside the body, if you have had trouble with black specs in your ice cubes, this may have been the beginning of your finish problem on the icemaker body.
On the module style ice makers (Whirlpool, Maytag Family, Sub Zero) the printed circuit in the
module head often wears and the contacts become too long and allow the icemaker to over fill = new ice maker or new module head.
    waterfilladjustment.jpg
Older style icemakers: This gear is bad for breaking and the icemaker quits turning to eject the ice.
You can remove the front cover to see the gear.
This is a common parts breakdown of the older style icemakers

Water fill volume: The water fill adjustment screw will change the fill volumes by changing the fill time.
One half to one full turn usually ( approx ) is equal to 20cc ( 0.68oz ) to 40 cc.
The correct fill is usually 130 to 150 cc ( 4.5 to 5.0 oz ).
When a water valve is replaced the fill volumes must be re-checked!

Ice maker does not stop working and overfills, then ice dispenser does not work and pushes door open.

Continuous ice production, too much ice in the bucket, ice cubes overflowing the bucket, ice cubes falling behind the bucket or ice lifting the chiller shelf can now be resolved by installing a redesigned feeler arm. The new arm is designed with a slight curve to cycle the icemaker “OFF“ before the cubes overflow the ice bucket. Order part number WR49X10103.
