Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board is starting to fail. The most common thing to go out on flat panel TVs is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board. It maybe taking it's time to try and power up the screen. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Hello, I have a lg lcd monitor. w1941s model. when I start my computer, it work for sometime. then it goes blank showing only the LG logo. then the power button doesnot work. it hang up glowing. again

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Take it to a repair shop.

My LG Flat screen goes on and off some days does not do it at all other days doing it every couple of minutes

hi
seems like you have power suply problem and
it will not turn on anymore sometime. This is a very common problem on Lg sets. You have to replace the power suply board but if you do not have previous experience i would suggest to contact your local tv service shop or if you want to go further you have to pick up the part # printed on the board and order on ebay or from Lg

LG TV Turns itself off

Sounds like it could be a poor connection in the power plug or a ' dry joint ' on the power board, if it's the latter, it will respond to light thumping at the side of the tv. If that's the case it needs resoldering by a technician..
good luck !
