My camera's lens remains out, even when I try to turn it off. It sounds like it is trying to cycle it closed, but is not succeeding. Anyone have any ideas? Is it worth trying to fix?

In the middle of taking pictures, suddenly the camera turned off and the lens is stuck in the extanded position. Fully recharging the battery didn't help solve the problem.

When I pull the lens cover back, the camera won't turn on and the lens won't come out like it normally does. Battery is freshly charged, but I even tried a new battery. Still won't turn on.

My lens won't close and the camera will no longer turn on. When it was plugged into my printer dock it turned on but quickly off again.

Kodak V550, battery used up while in video mode- now the lens willnot
retract even after charging battery. I think it is a manufacturer
defect. Anyone solve a similar problem?

Same A95 camera, all of a sudden, the power turned off, lens did not retract, power won't come on again, even with fresh batteries.

The lens did not retract when turning off camera. An E18 error code appeared in lower left corner of display. Zoom controls did not work.
I changed the Compact Flash card and the camera works fine. So far so good.

I have the same problem with my dsc-p92. My lens won't open with new batteries. I took it to the Geek Squad. They weren't very helpful; said I could send it away for 3 weeks to get a diagnosis.

Same here with C-60. I saw anoher post indicating the circuit
board may be bad and to leave the battery out for 24 hours to
force the camera to reset, but if there is an internal battery this
will not work
