Question about GE (PSS26MSRSS) Side by Side Refrigerator
The freezer isn't keeping things frozen and the frig isn't cold enough. There was "snow" along the back wall of the freezer. I cleaned it and completely thawed out the coils which were also iced over. Almost immediately, the coils started getting the snowy ice on them again. Is this something I can fix myself?
Sounds like a defrost problem or an evaporator fan problem . I would suggest you have a professional check it for you to find the problem and then do the repair yourself . If the fan isn't working , probably a main control board problem and not the actual fan ,which is costly . Also , possible thermistor problem which takes experience to diagnose . Buying parts without knowing which is bad can be realy costly on GE refrigerators .
