Give your friend this information. Let him/her go to this website, and download it to their computer.

This is eMachines Support, and the Drivers and Downloads page for the eMachines w3115,
http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=W%20Series&model=W3115

(If it doesn't come up specifically to the Drivers and Downloads page, come back with an additional comment, and let me know)

You want the third file down ->
Audio
Realtek AC'97 Audio Driver
To the right of -> Driver File <- click on the blue
-> Download (30.76MB)

After you click on it a small window will come up. Click on the empty circle to the left of ->Save.
Now go below to the right, and click on -> Save.
Unless you have your downloads saved to go to your My Documents folder, (Start>My Documents), this will go to your desktop screen.

Whichever place it goes to when you see it, double-click on it. If the Installation Wizard pops up, follow the instructions. If not look for a file that ends in -> .exe
Double-click on that file.
(It's an -> Execute file)

There is no way you can delete a sound card. But I guess you are referring to the sound card driver shown in Device Manager. It's not a problem, just open Device Manager from Control Panel -> System -> Device and then click on a the icon Check for Device Changes to ask WinXP to locate the driver automatically. If it does not, just insert the Sound Card driver CD into the CD drive and start the installation manually.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do i adjust my vga cpu to work with my svga monitor?

Your computer should work fine with the monitor. I would guess that the XP display settings are off, either the resolution or monitor refresh rate.

Rather than tinkering with the display settings, it may be easier to delete the video card from device manager, then reboot and let Windows configure itself. You can then tweak the settings by right-clicking the desktop, properties, settings (I think), or thru Control Panel, Display (I think). I haven't run XP in a while.

I have a emachine desktop W3115. It lost the network adapter and does not recognize the internet. I bought a OPERATING SYSTEM DISC Dual Core Windows XP Media Center Edition but that did not fix the network...

If you still have the original eMachine software as your desktop, go to Start > system Recovery > Create my Drivers and Application CD disk.

This will create a CD that will contaon all the drivers for your eMachine.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Volume cannot be changed.Full Volume even if reduced or muted

You need to first find out what chipset your on-board card uses my friend. Check all the documentation to find out. You will need the exact set. Now search the net for an updated set of drivers that matches your operating system (XP SP1/2 etc). Now go to device manager and delete anything which has sound connections (MIDI Interfaces, MICs etc..). Now click the 'scan for changes' icon in device manager. Use the new drivers you downloaded.
