Attempting to play a DVD on a Toshiba player but not able to get full screen picture on TV. Can you help with the problem?

A DVD plays in "Letterbox" format. To have full screen, the TV settings need to be changed to full screen, or zoom. Found in the TV menu of most TV's.

I have a toshiba satellite, and i have just run a new XP disc, but i cant get the programme to fit full screen. any help please

Hi

Sounds like the video card drivers are not installed or the resolution is not set to the correct one.

You can obtain the drivers from here http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp# click on download and find your model from the list and download and install the display adapter drivers. If the issue persists then you need to adjust the resolution, right click on desktop background and select properties, then click on the settings tab, on that page you will see the resolution slider slide it towards the right and click apply, adjust until it fills the whole screen.

If other features of the laptop don't work the drivers could be missing, check the toshiba site for drivers.

Often if you are having the problem you describe you need a full cleaning. Often tape head cleaners are not able to clean a clogged head.
I would take it in to a shop for cleaning.
