HP OfficeJet G85 All-In-One... Alignment Problem

I keep getting an message saying that my printer needs to be re-aligned. And then when I press the enter button to do this re-alignment it fails. The first of the three lines printed on the page is about 5cm indented from the other 2 print lines that follow. Even when I hit cancel a million times this does not go away, on/off still doesn't solve it, replacing the printer cartridges still no result. I can however copy and fax still. But, since I can't print and I do use it for printing this is a real problem.

Hope you can help or else I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a new HP Multifunction printer.

Align Cartridge Always Shows Up

The message won't go away until it completes the alignment. If any colors are not printing it won't pass the alignment. you can bypass the message but it will keep coming up until the alignment is satisfactory.

Print Alignment Page continues to fail

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

OfficeJet G85xi cartirdges will not align

Could be one of two things....

1 - you may have bad cartridges (usually the color)...when the machine does an alignment it looks for specific marks on the check marks before each line etc...if the correct marks are not there you will get an alignment failure...if the green check marks are there etc then you have a different problem...first replace color cartridge with a HP Brand cartridge

2- spot sensor on the side of carriage is not working...this is the little blue/green light that comes on during alignment. Its what reads the markings on paper so if the markings are correctly there and you still get this error then the spot sensor needs to be replaced. Simple fix that u can do. We sell the spot sensor for $15
