I am waiting for my scooter to go into the shop and get fixed that is why I need to know if it should stop on me, before I can get it fixed.
SOURCE: Scooter just stops
Battery connection problems cause the controller to overheat. Once you have allowed the electronics to cool down, all seems well again. Get on your knees and check that the battery terminals are secured very well. Happy scooting. Regards Chris… [email protected]

Hi. Does the machine stop suddenly, or does it slowly stop as it normally would? Does this happen on hills or slopes?
A lot of scooters have a self-resetting circuit breaker connected to the battery leads. If the machine draws to much current ( amps ) then the circuit breaker trips out. After a few minutes the circuit breaker will reset and you can continue.
This could mean that the circuit breaker is faulty or that the motor is drawing to much current, or is burnt out.
Some machines have a very light duty circuit breaker, and these can trip out often. I have changed many of these circuit breakers for this reason.
Check all your battery leads are secure and tight.
If it is still a problem, get a serviceman to check the motor current is what it should be.
Good luck. Neil.
Hi, Okay first of all the throttle pot may not be returning to the central position any-more normally this causes a error condition, a bleeping sound, the other thing is the brake is not working correctly , it be worn or not releasing , Do you hear a click when going forward or backwards ?, Some Sterling's work with the brake disconnected so check the wiring.. remember 24v is applied to the electromagnic brake to release the plates allowing you to move, keep me posted please. Needs a full overnight charge of at least 12 hours and left on charge even when the lights tell you it's is charged up.then get into the habit of running it right down to improve the storage stamina of battery.good idea to take charger out with you so if you get a chance to top it up somewhere whilst away from home.remember in cold weather these things can't travel as far.
