SOURCE: Scooter just stops

Battery connection problems cause the controller to overheat. Once you have allowed the electronics to cool down, all seems well again. Get on your knees and check that the battery terminals are secured very well. Happy scooting. Regards Chris… [email protected]

SOURCE: Scooter stops intermittenly

Hi. Does the machine stop suddenly, or does it slowly stop as it normally would? Does this happen on hills or slopes?
A lot of scooters have a self-resetting circuit breaker connected to the battery leads. If the machine draws to much current ( amps ) then the circuit breaker trips out. After a few minutes the circuit breaker will reset and you can continue.
This could mean that the circuit breaker is faulty or that the motor is drawing to much current, or is burnt out.
Some machines have a very light duty circuit breaker, and these can trip out often. I have changed many of these circuit breakers for this reason.
Check all your battery leads are secure and tight.
If it is still a problem, get a serviceman to check the motor current is what it should be.
Good luck. Neil.

SOURCE: I have a Sterling Micro 3 wheeled scooter. When I turn the throttle off the scooter carries on rolling and does not stop like it used to. Anybody know whats gone on my scooter?

Hi, Okay first of all the throttle pot may not be returning to the central position any-more normally this causes a error condition, a bleeping sound, the other thing is the brake is not working correctly , it be worn or not releasing , Do you hear a click when going forward or backwards ?, Some Sterling's work with the brake disconnected so check the wiring.. remember 24v is applied to the electromagnic brake to release the plates allowing you to move, keep me posted please. SOURCE: Pride Mobility Scooter just put in new batteries went to the shops and on the way back just stopped had to push it home not good shop is only 1Km away now it seems ok but don't want to risk it. Red li

Needs a full overnight charge of at least 12 hours and left on charge even when the lights tell you it's is charged up.then get into the habit of running it right down to improve the storage stamina of battery.good idea to take charger out with you so if you get a chance to top it up somewhere whilst away from home.remember in cold weather these things can't travel as far.

Shoprider Mobility Scooter. My chair is a shoprider. I ran into 12 pack of soda and the scooter wrench is blinking and the lights across the top are blinking.

You can try pressing the reset button, or disconnect the battery for 10 minutes.

Led power light on my Pride victory xl4 scooter will not come on when key is turned on. Batteries are charged and lights work but scooter wont move.

Check under the back end, generally connect to the electric motor is a lever by one of the back wheels, or in the case of "pride" sometimes they have knob that is lifted or dropped above the housing to engage or disengage the electric brake on the motor. If it is disengaged the scooter will not move by the motor, but you should be able to move the scooter manually, sometimes it gets "between" where it should be! If it is engaged, you shouldn't be able to move the scooter by pushing or pulling. Once your sure it is engaged, turn off the scooter wait a moment, then turn it back on. There is one more reason that may cause you a issue, the scooter can not be connected to the charge cord, disconnect it from the scooter and again turn off the key, and then turn on again to reset the scooter interface. These are both safety connections. Some of the newer ones will also "beep" if these situations are happening, and stop beeping when reset..

Scooter won't move when forward/reverse engaged.

Engage the freewheel lever
- allows you to operate the mobility equipment with the standard controls.
Disengage the freewheel lever - This unlocks the unit and allows the wheels to spin freely. You can easy push the equipment without power. This is especially helpful if you run out of battery power and need assistance.

I have a lynx L-3 scooter and when i try to get it to go. after i turn it on .i let it set for a few menites and the push on the throttle control lever and it want move. if you will push it a little with...

Your scooter has an auto lockout timer. After it sets with the key on, for a determined amount of time, ( all scooters times are different) it will lock out and you have to turn the key to the off position for 9 seconds and then turn it back on. A good idea is to turn the key off when not moving.
When you turn the scooter on just wait 9 secnd before pushing the throttle.

Good Luck

During operation scooter stops and then goes again when ignition key is pulled out and then pushed in again, this happens every 20 seconds or so.

Hi. Does the battery gauge also go off when your scooter stops?
This fault could also be caused by a stuck or worn motor brush.
Could be caused by a faulty key switch. Is the key you use, a round plug? Do you just push it in and pull it out without turning it?
If the answer is yes, then the key and switch are a mono radio socket and connector. You can buy them at most radio repair shops.
Also check your battery lead connectors, and your motor lead connectors. I have seen these connectors melt if they have a bad connection.
Good luck. Neil.

Erratic operation

Sounds like paddle assy. (engager) this is common problem. As for the batteries, deep-cycle (gel-cell are best) they are made to take many charges, hold charge longer and vent no fumes so their much safer.
