Hi Geoff
If it's only the number 1 button you have this problem with, then it's likely that the membrane is worn and, realistically, you'll need a new remote.
If all keys do the same, i.e 2, 20, 22 and 3 30 33 then it's probably just the response time of the TV. This is so you can enter long channel numbers like 111 without the TV changing to channel 1 or 11 before you have finished entering the channel number. Similarly, if it's on all keys, it could just be a sign that the batteries need replacing.
Anything can be fixed, but in the case of a remote control, the cost and difficulty of obtaining parts mean it's is usually easier and cheaper to buy a new remote.
You can buy replacment remotes from a variety of places, but make sure you are buying a Genuine Original OEM remote and not a third-party replacement. Beware, some shops also charge extortionate prices so make sure you shop around, but you should expect to pay £15-20 depending on which remote you have. I have used the shop below for replacement remotes and they are reliable, but not always the cheapest. Their prices do include delivery though. You will need your remote control model number when searching. On Samsungs this number is usually under the bottom row of keys:
http://www.remote-controls-shop.co.uk/
http://www.ebay.co.uk is also a good source of replacement remotes.
If you have any difficulty finding a replacement or you need any further information, please post back with your model number and I may be able to find you a good deal on a genuine unit.
Please rate this solution if you find it helpful. Thanks.
