Lens problem, no zooming capabilities and blurry images
When I turn on my camera, it makes a screechy buzzing noise and the screen goes black. The only way I can get to camera mode is by pressing the green triangle to look at previous pictures then switching to the red camera button. When I do this, the images all look blurry. The pictures are also blurry, and if I try to change anything about a picture (zooming, setting, etc.) in come the buzzing and black screen. The buzzing noise also occurs when I turn the camera off.
Re: Lens problem, no zooming capabilities and blurry...
This would need to be serviced something is wrong with the auto focus and this is inside the lens housing. I would take it into a camera shop and have the examin the autofocus.

There is a mechanical displacement in your camera. Definitely, it is not a software problem. Actually Digi Cams are very delicate, especially small ones.... So get it serviced from a authorised service station. They will fix the problem....

You have sand or some other small particles trapped between the moving parts of the lens. But I don't recommend you to try to clean it! Because you need to disassemble the camera and if you don't set the lens as exactly as it should be, the images will be blurry forever!
When I turn my camera on, the lens goes in and out a few times. Once it's finally on and I look at the screen, everything is blurry. When I take the picture, it's blurry too. If I try to use the zoom to adjust, the lens starts going in and out all crazy and won't adjust right.
I had the same problem. I hit it a long time ago when it did it for the first time. It has been a year since then and it is doing it again. I tried the book solution again and it will not work. I tried holding the lens, no luck, and I tried applying pressure when the lens went back in, again, no luck. Honestly, I don't think I will buy another Olympus fe series camera again. The solutions provided do help the first few times your camera does it, but you might want to start checking the market for a new camera.
Here is the information on the lens system for the Pentax...
The Sliding Lens system is a proprietary PENTAX lens system that offsets the central lens groups from the optical lens axis and retracts the lens in two steps in the cylinder for minimized overall body depth.
I think from what you have stated, the lens system is off track, hense the noise and the blurry image...
Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem.
In any case it could not make it worse
Good luck!
