Hi, The timer board is located in the control panel. Remove the control knobs and then pry the front plate with a thin flat blade. It will pop off. You will find 2 screws behind the plate and 2 on the back side of the control panel. Here is a picture.
Please let me know if this helps you.

Thanks

I don't think your model number is correct in most cases your defrost timer or adaptive defrost board is located wherever your temperature controls are.

I can't find the wiring diagram for my whirlpool refridgerator.... MOD.#ET19RKXFN01 SER.#EG3222178. Can you please help. I need to change the defrost timer.....Thanks

I will try to locate a wiring diagram for your model ET19RKXFN01 but to change the defrost timer you will only need to know its location. Here is a link to the repair parts=> ET19RKXFN01_Repair_Parts_List
Go to page 5 of the repair parts list and you will see item number 4 Then on page 6 of the parts list you will see the timer part number beside the item 4. That is your defrost timer part number 2193084 Defrost Timer

Your refrigerator is an older model and may have the wiring digram in a packet behind the kick plate in the front near floor. Changing the defrost timer will not require use of a wiring diagram. Simply remove the old timer and replace the new defrost timer by plugging it into the wiring harness. The defrost timer can be found behind the control panel inside the fresh food compartment where the controls are located above the top shelf. Roper refrigerator doesnt defrost

The first thing you want to do is open the freezer and see if the fan inside there is running. The reason is the freezer cools the refrigerator side by circulating air from the freezer. If the fan is running then your problem is one or more parts of the defrost system is malfunctioned and in return your problem arises. There are three parts to the system, the defrost timer or in some cases control board, defrost thermostat also known as a bi-metal, and the defrost heater. The defrost system is set up to operate as so. The defrost timer or control board will turn the machine off, in some cases every 8 hours, some 12. During this time period the defrost heaters, located behind the freezer wall and rest underneath the evaporator, yet wires to them run up the side of it, are energized and emit heat that raises upward to melt the ice that has formed on the evaporator coils. The bi-metal or defrost thermostat is at the top of the evaporator. When the heat from the heater starts to reach the bi-metal, it breaks the circuit turning the heater off. The whole purpose of this is because the freezer cool the refridgerator side by drawing air across the coils and blowing to the other side via the evap fan motor. In my opinion, if you change one part of the defrost system change them all because usually when one part fails another will follow, so save yourself the time and the food loss, the cost difference is minute.

Frige icing up every 1 or 2 days roper

Hi, more then likely it would be the defrost timer that is causing you're problem. On some models they are located at that back bottom corner, mounted with a couple of screws. If you can't locate it, look at the schematic on the back and look for DFT and locate it from there. This will be the problem. Defrost timer failing.
Best of Luck,

Freezer works fine but refridgerator doesn't

you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model

Refridgerator is not blowing out cold air.

Inside the fresh food compartment behind the control panel there is a defrost timer. There also should be a small opening to turn the timer clockwise slowly until you hear refrigerator compressor stop running. The timer if working properly should return the refrigerator to operating after about 20 minutes. If not I believe the timer may be defective and need be replaced. Try this first and let me know, Thanks, Sea breeze

I have a fairly older model Roper....lately it has been freezing up, then rapidly defrosting in the freezer. Also the Refridgerator section stays like warm....I have been told that the defrost timer is the...

It may be the timer and it also may be the defrost terminator they are both common repairs. the terminator is in the freezer section behind the back panel. It is a small 1"round part with 2 or 3 wires going to it and it clips on the evaporator tubing at the top. both are not much money to replace and it would be worth replacing both parts for future problems.
