Question about Philips Magnavox 20MT133S 20" TV

12 yr old JVC 36'' television

The on/off switch broke off and inside the set last year after my 3yr old made it his personal toy, on,off,on,off, etc. Could then only turn it on with remote. Now, the t.v. just constantly clicks on and off without touching anything. There is never a picture that come up now because it is turning itself on and off. The only way to stop it is to unplug the set. It starts back up when you plug it back in. I took the back off and removed the broken on/off switch but that didn't fix the problem. What suggestions do you have ?

The little button on the main circuit board may be sticking intermittently causing your set to do this. This little push button was operated by the piece your 3-year old broke off.

Pink screen

A discolored screen, such as pink in your case, implies either:

1.) The motherboard and/or video processor of the TV has malfunctioned.

2.) Your input device is rendering the pink screen, such as a video game console for example.

If you determine that your input is not the reason for the pink screen then you need to contact Samsung for a warranty replacement.

Samsung offers a 1 year / 12 month standard warranty, and some of higher model TV's have a 3yr / 36 month warranty.

You can find out your warranty information by going to

Also if you have purchased the TV in the last 30 days you can purchase a Squaretrade warranty which will refund the price of the television if they can not fix it.

I hope this helps!  Thank you for using FixYa!

Lamp model #wd 52525 yr 2004 there is a dud

depending on amount of use and how many on off cycles. Its not good to turn these sets on and off within short periods of time. The lamp only lasts a couple years. This is all DLPs. Dont know what you mean by dud switch, there is a switch that is closed when the lamp door is secured. DUD usually refers to the old lamp much like a CORE that refers in rebuildable auto parts. The old lamp housing can be relamped.

The digital clock on my 30"JVC is showing in the bottom of screen

The menu screen does not function the display. Without the original remote or a universal remote that does not have a display button, try unplugging the television for at least 2 minutes or more and plug the tv back in. This should reset the tv display. If the universal remote has a display button, depress the display button until you get the desired display results. Reference the user guide below for the display button.

29" crt tv video and sound problem

Is it possible that the input to the TV is still good including cables and cable box or anything? If another TV works from the same input then it may be the TV settings like AV/video rather than TV channels. Check all this out. I hope it is something simple as that. Good Luck.
