How to remove the rear cover on a Bernina 1530

The Securing button and spring on my Bernina 1530 popped out. There is a collar that apparently holds the button in that I could see still laying inside the machine above and to the right of the needle. However, when I tilted the machine up to remove it, it fell into the top of the machine.

To locate and recover the lost collar,we are trying to remove the rear cover on the machine. We took two screws out that hold the cover but to get it off we need to loosen the cover on the right end of the machine. There are two switch knobs (main switch & feed dog button) that are holding it on.

My question is: Do you just pull these knobs to remove them? They seem to be attached securely. Sure don't want to break anything.

Hi, yes they just come off. I usually slide a small screwdriver behind them and gently pry them out.
There is also the cover on the handwheel that needs to come off by taking maybe a needle and prying that off from the edge. Then you will see a couple more screws. A small one and a big black one. There is also screws under the machine.
Hope I helped.

Need to reset Basting Pin on Bernina 1530. I have the back off. Can you tell me where it is located?

Where did you have the machine serviced?
Repairing the basting device is challenging especially if the trigger and piston of the decoupling mechanism is sticking or stuck. If this is the case, the entire head-frame would have to be removed, cleaned, repaired, reassembled, and adjusted. This will be challenging for the average Bernina dealer. If the repair person is not trained on Bernina machines even if he technically capable, the task will be impossible in general, especially in relation to labor cost and your willingness to pay. Bernina technical manuals do not cover this kind of problem any way.
Advise that you seek out a first rate Bernina Technician that has experience in removing and repairing head frames and carriers and make sure that you are getting a lengthy warranty on the work. Asking for warranty on repair is a filter as to the technical prowess and competence. The cost should not exceed $120.

How to adjust bobbin tension bernina 150

On the side of the bobbin case is a half moon shaped curved spring with a screw through it securing it to the bobbin case
take the small yellow or red screwdriver that came with your machine and turn the screw clock wise to tighten and counter clockwise to loosen. Correct tension is achieved by inserting a full bobbin of thread, into bobbin case, remove the half moon shaped shuttle from machine, put the bobbin case on to the shuttle, now hold just thread and with a youo motion shake the above and the shuttle and bobbin case should slide down the thread about 12 to 24 inches for correct tension

How do I take the head cover off a bernina 1008

These have a spring catch that holds the top down. I use a blunted polished tool that I gently pry it open with.
