Question about Bernina Sewing Machines
The Securing button and spring on my Bernina 1530 popped out. There is a collar that apparently holds the button in that I could see still laying inside the machine above and to the right of the needle. However, when I tilted the machine up to remove it, it fell into the top of the machine.
To locate and recover the lost collar,we are trying to remove the rear cover on the machine. We took two screws out that hold the cover but to get it off we need to loosen the cover on the right end of the machine. There are two switch knobs (main switch & feed dog button) that are holding it on.
My question is: Do you just pull these knobs to remove them? They seem to be attached securely. Sure don't want to break anything.
Hi, yes they just come off. I usually slide a small screwdriver behind them and gently pry them out.
There is also the cover on the handwheel that needs to come off by taking maybe a needle and prying that off from the edge. Then you will see a couple more screws. A small one and a big black one. There is also screws under the machine.
Hope I helped.
