Question about Candy Ovens
I have a Candy Oven (Product Number) F 233 BL UK) Model Number 36177574. Basically, the extractor hood fell off and hit the door of the oven as it was open. The right hinge came out, I've managed to put the hinge back into its rightful place so the door will now open and close in a fashion but the oven door no longer closes fully at the top. I am guessing that there is some sort of mechanism that keeps the door shut and I guess this has broken - perhaps a spring?. Firstly, what do you think is the part that has broken. How much do they cost and how easy would it be for a novice to repair. If a novice couldn't tackle it can you recommend an oven repairer - Leeds area. thanks

I had the same problem on my parents Kitchenaid KEMS378GWH0 oven, the door would only close enough to keep the light on. They propped a chair against it to cook. My father replaced the hinges and it worked for about a week. He noticed that pulling outward on the door at the very bottom edge often allowed it to close enough to use.
After completely dismantling the oven to get access to the brackets that the hinges slide into, we found it was not broken. We decided to expand on the only near solution we had and find a way to make the bottom of the door 'push out'. Our solution was very simple. Remove the small metal plate that covers the door insulation. This revealed that the insulation is a braided hollow rope that is held in by small clips that push through holes in the front of the oven. We threaded some small metal rods about 3/8 inch in diameter into the hollow insulation pushed the clips back in to re-attach the insulation, replaced the metal cover plate.

SOURCE: oven door does not close
It was a problem with Jenn Air wall ovens, maytag posted a tech bulliton on it in 2003 heres the link
but you need to replace the hinges and sockets with the beefier ones, and the kit saves money verses buying just the hinge.
part number 1200211 for single and combo units
and 12002112 for double units
i know for a fact that the double unit kit is only $85 USD so the single should be less.
i nkow this because i had to replace the hinges in one today for a lady with the same problem.
Thanks, Joe-Appliance Tech, Appliance Doctor

This is a known issue. The model number is JJW9530C. I have been browsing the internet trying to find stronger hinges but with no luck. It seems there are a lot of unhappy Jenn air owners. You are correct in your assumption that the door is to heavy for the hinges. I will post the websites for your review
Maybe if I could see the hinge I could fabricate a stronger stainless steel one for you
