My xerox work centre 4118 is locked How am I going to unlock it

Well open the printer where you can(the closest point to the jammed paper) attempt to remove the jam by attempting to pull the Jamed paper in the direction it would normally exit the machine.thats about as far as I can get you with the information I have--Good Luck.

There are 4 solutions to try and they don't fit in their entirety so I included links to each one. Please be sure to read the instructions entirely AND ensure you need to perform each one.

If none of those fail to resolve it call for service.

The above links to the drivers page, but unfortunately, I do not see specific Windows 7 drivers for this printer. This means that older XP or the latest drivers from the year 2008 are used in emulation mode, maybe, for Windows 7.

Since this is not a 'new' printer, I gather, it will not guaranteed to work with Windows 7. However, I would try the link above for various drivers which may or may not work on this printer.

The fact that the Printer is shown to be offline, is a bad sign.
I read that the printer in question has the following connectivity:

On the page which opens, select the operating system of your computer (Windows Xp/ Vista..) from the drop-down menu and select the Language "English". Then click "Go" button.
Download the required drivers and software from the list which opens.

The list of available drivers will load only after selecting the operating system of the computer.

That isnt unusual. The 8000 pages is for a page with 5 percent coverage area, or a rather short letter.
the 3600 to 4000 pages is not out of the ordinary for that machine, Although the xerox brand may work better, although not more copies, if you run pages with more than 5 percent of the page printed, that is about right.
Also there is no chip on a 4118 cartridge. The toner is monitored by a sensor and window in the middle of the cartridge. It shines light through the cartridge, and when the cartridge is empty the light actuates a light activated sensor.
it is not an efficient machine.
