I have pc Hp compaq dc 7100 ultra slim, the sound card not working even I installed driver of card but the sound card not working yet.

Hello, was the sound working before, i would like to know

1. Your sound card might be disabled from the bios. Restart your computer and quickly press F2, F10 or Delete button to get into the bios to check.
2. Un-install your sound card driver completely and then re-install
3. Your sound may be disabled from within windows, check for the speaker icon on your taskbar and if the slider works.
4. Another hardware on your computer is conflicting with your sound card. Have you installed any recent hardware or software? if so remove them and see if it solves the problem

I am having trouble getting my sound to work on my computer, it says i have no sound card installed on my computer and i do not know how to get a sound card installed on my computer.... Please help!

if your computer came with a motherboard disk the sound drivers could be on it
control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustments there or
control panel, administrive tools, computer management, device manager, sound video and game controllers could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers
or
you might have to get a portable usb sound card if you mean dont have a sound card installed

you might have to uninstall then reinstall both the driver and the sound devices
control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustments there or control panel, administrive tools, computer management, device manager, sound, could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers or right click select properties to either troubleshoot, uninstall, rollback driver

I bought some surround sound speakers 3-5 years ago and they recently have not been working properly. First I have to make sure the external sound card is plugged into the computer so it will register it,...

first did all of these speakers work together at any stage
if not you will have to get yourself an external sound card possibly a usb portable/removable sound card

No sound my computer. i am instaled the audio driver realtech AC,97 but then open the music file my compter give me answare no sound driver in your computer.

1 Right click my computer.
2 Properties.
3 Hardware.
4 Device manager.
Check you have no yellow asterisks next to any of the sound, video and game controllers, if you have right click and uninstall. Reboot the system wizard should find new hardware and reinstall the driver correctly.
The computer may well be a Compaq but the sound card will be something else i.e., a sound blaster or something you need to know what card it is to get the correct driver.
If the sound has worked previously the computer should still have the correct driver in it and uninstalling and reinstalling should work.
Is the computer a laptop with a built in sound card or a workstation and you are trying to activate a sound card you have installed i.e., not the one built into the motherboard?
Compaq is normally a workstation not a laptop anyway let me know and I will try and advise you further.

However u can install internal and external audio cards and dissable motherboard sound.External card connect via USB.

Connecting to computer

First, check all cords of course. Make sure power is in an outlet that works, green cord with the green port on the computer. (Check that you are plugging the right colors together, if so look below)

If you could tell me what type of sound card your computer has, I can guide you through.

(Sound cards)
There are PCI sound cards or/and Integrated sound cards for most situations. A PCI sound card would mean that you have a physical card which would look like this, with more or equal speaker jacks :

Or if you have an Integrated sound card then the back of your computer might look like this (Sound portion includes the 3 female jacks furthest to the right):
f53cb0c.jpg Or you might have both, if you have both plug into the PCI sound card since that more than likely is the way the computer is setup.
