It does not seem that this model has built in wifi capability. If you click on start then run, and type ncpa.cpl and click ok. That should bring up Network connections, if you see wireless network connection then you have wifi capability. If it is not there then you do not have wifi capability. (In vista type ncpa.cpl in the start search box instead of run). If you do not have wifi capability you can add a USB wifi adapter to the computer. You can get a USB wifi adapter at any electronic store that sells computer components.

It may be wireless enabled. Even if it isn't, then you may install wireless NIC (network interface card) that will help to retrieve the wireless signals.

Sony vaio pcv 6603 driver

There are usually two numbers that Sony uses, one internally and one for martketing, If you look on your machine you should find a different number to search the Sony.com support site for. In your case I think your other number is PCV-V1 and it is a European model, which isn't found on the US site. Here is a link to the UK site downloads and software for this machine http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/pcv-v1
So the general advice is; go to the company's Support/Downloads/Drivers site for the country or region you purchased it in, and if one model number doesn't work, then look for another model number on your machine

Power cable at rear of sony vaio pcv desktop sparking and not starting up

Stop using it. Bring it to a repair shop ASAP. You need your PSU replaced and if you keep using it you'll need your motherboard replaced as well. In fact if you keep using it you could burn all of your internal components out.

My SOny Vaio VGN-N160G wireless not working

Follow the procedure below to troubleshoot wireless connection issues, including dropped connections, failed connections or low signal strength.
NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, try connecting to the wireless network and view Web sites using the Internet Explorer after completing each step.
  1. Verify the physical wireless switch is turned on. Refer to the user's manual for instructions.
  2. Turn on the WLAN adapter using the Wireless Device Switch utility.
  3. Restart the Wireless Zero Configuration service.
  4. Reinstall the original wireless adapter driver.Uninstall the driver from device manager and reinstall it from the VAIO Recovery software. IMPORTANT: If model-specific information is required to use the VAIO Recovery software, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are available online through the Manuals/Specs/Warranty link on this page.
  5. If available, download and install a wireless adapter driver update from the Drivers & Software link on this page.
  6. If possible, test another computer on the wireless network. NOTE: If another computer is unsuccessful, contact the wireless router manufacturer or ISP to verify they are working properly.
  7. Remove the network bridge if one exists and then restart the computer.
  8. Boot the computer into safe mode and test the wireless connection in the Internet Explorer browser. NOTE: If the connection works in safe mode, the issue is likely caused by anti-virus or anti-spyware software. Configure the software properly per the manufacturer's instructions.
WARNING: If anti-virus or anti-spyware software has been removed or disabled to troubleshoot the issue, Sony recommends enabling or reinstalling it to prevent exposure to malicious software. Once the software is enabled or reinstalled, configure it properly per the manufacturer's instructions to allow the Internet or network connection to work correctly.
  9. Check the WAN IP address of the router as per the manufacturer's instructions. NOTE: If the router is not getting a WAN IP address, the issue is likely caused by a problem with ISP.
WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. If a router has been specifically configured (PPPoe, DSL, MAC address filtering, security, etc.), the settings will be removed by resetting the router and it will have to be reconfigured.
  10. Reset the router and/or modem per the manufacturer's instructions.
  11. If available, install a firmware update for the router and/or modem. Check the manfacturer's Web site for updates and instructions.
You can get the complete information in the esupport.sony.com article ID: C1000994

Don .bin is a firmware that can upload to the linksys router or any router.

So it seems that your unable to connect wirelessly using the linksys adapter? The Internet connection before is working properly?

*I might advise you to reinstall the driver of your wireless adapter using the latest driver that you can download in there support site.

- Check the Internet connection hardwired to the router if connection works it seems that problem is on the adapter.
