Hi,

You just need to download the appropriate audio driver for your computer. Go to the Device Manager and install all missing drivers for "Unknown Devices". Either connect to the internet or use the driver disc which came with the motherboard of the computer.

For those who doesn't know how to access Device Manager, please follow the steps below.

For Windows XP:
Start -> Run -> Type devmgmt.msc (in the box) -> Right click Unknown device -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Update driver

For Windows Vista and Windows 7
Start -> Type devmgmt.msc (in the start search box) -> Right click Unknown device -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Update driver

Hope this helps.

No sound at all

1) Go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices > Audio tab 2) Check what's under "Sound playback: Default device" and "Sound recording: Default device". It these fields are grey and non-clickable, then most probably the audio card driver is missing or less probably the audio card itself is broken. 3A) If you have an original CD of your computer, motherboard, or audio card, insert the CD and install the driver from it. 3B) Or alternatively insert the CD and go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > Hardware > Device Manager, find any unidentified device in the list, or expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" branch, identify the Audio card > Right click > Update driver... > Install the software automatically > Next 3C) Or alternatively download and install a free driver updater software, e.g. http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/index.htm - let it scan and update all your missing drivers. P.S. These steps mentioned above are for Windows XP, but will be quite similar on other Windows versions, too.
If you tell me your laptop's model name, I could find its website where you can download audio drivers. For example if you have HP laptop, go to www.hp.com and enter your laptop's model number and look for driver downloads offered.

First, find out which revision you have (2.1, 3.x, or 6.6) It should be marked somewhere on the board, most likely next to the model number. On another computer, go to the Gigabyte download selection page for this series and click on your revision number. From here you can not only download drivers, but the latest BIOS firmware and manuals.

Copy your downloaded files to a USB memory stick or burn them to a CD. Take this to the computer with the Gigabyte motherboard. Open the System control panel, click on the Hardware tab, and click on Device Manager. Right-click on the Network device (it will probably have a yellow warning mark on it to indicate the missing driver) and select Properties. Click on the Update Driver button. In the Driver Wizard, direct the computer to search in your removable media.

Lost my laptop sound & display

Try this:-

How to update your Sound Driver

Try the following:-

First Make sure your PC has access to the internet

Click "Start" --> "Control Panel"
Double click on "System" --> "Hardware" --> "Device Manager"
Search for your "Sound Card" under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers"
If there is a problem you will see an exclamation mark over the top of the symbol
Right Click and Select "Update Driver"
If you have the correct sound driver disk or driver disk that came with the pc
insert this now and select "no not this time"
then "install driver automatically"
Alternatively
Select "Yes this time only" to allow windows to search the internet
If the driver is found windows will install it and may ask for a restart

If the updated driver is not found, follow the above instructions but do not select "Update Driver" select "Properties"
and under the "General" tab your sound device and manufacturer is displayed

Search the internet for the required drivers
