Did you check the (12) 6.8 ohm resistors as your model will usually have one or two that will need replacement when the ICs failed.

I have sony tv kp-65wv600. It has problems. color and video is blurry, double vision, letters are curved

You have a convergence failure.

Convergence IC failure is very common. The solution is to replace the STK chips, check fuses and the resistors next to the STK chips. Replace as necessary and re-align via the service menu. It is about a $300 repair at a tv service center. You will need the service manual if you decide to do this yourself.

Try This:
When you notice the symptons Use this simple test to verify.
Go to the users menu on the tv.
Look for the converge option probably under setup or video setting. Converge is short for convergence to align the red and blue colors to the green color.

If you cannot move the red either horizontal or vertical, then the STK chip has failed for red section.
If you cannot move the blue either horizontal or vertical, then the STK chip has failed for the blue section.

If you can move both in each direction then the problem is something else.

Note if one STK chip fails, you replace both regardless

I have a Sony KP-61V60. I seem to have a problem with the color covergance where my screen looks almost 3D with the red sticking out. What do I need to do to repair this myself? How do I know if my RGB...

If you go into the customer menu and select CONVERGENCE and red or blue will not adjust in some direction you have a Convergence circuit problem.

Most of these sets use two STK-392-110 or STK-292-560 CONVERGENCE ic chips.

Both chips need to be replaced. If convergence will not adjust you do not have a bad "bulb" these sets use three picture tubes--red, green, and blue and the convergence circuit "converges the three pictures".

Usual parts cost total is under 30 dollars if you buy the parts on Ebay--there are places on the net that sell kits for 70 or more---they contain the pair of chips and other parts that may be needed--from my point of view they are a waste of money as most of these sets just need the two chips replaced--some will need a bad resistor around one of the chips located and replaced as well--on Ebay you can buy a pair of whatever chips the set uses for under 20 dollars including shipping.

Right now the site where I research these models for exact part numbers is down but I can help if you have some skill at soldering and want to fix it yourself. Most shops are going to get 300 or more for this type of repair.

Let me know if you have questions or need help.

If this information has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Where are the convergence chips located on my 60PP9202 for the red

There are 2 Convergence Chips: 1 for Horizontal (it includes Red, Green and Blue Convergence channels) and 1 for Vertical (it includes Red, Green and Blue Convergence channels). Horizontal Convergence Chip is 7044 and Vertical convergence Chip is 7045 (both STK392-120). They are fixed in same "big" Heat Sink, with a 2 metal black clips, from Video Inputs board side.

Convergence vertical red line is jagged on upper section off straight line when trying to adjust. Tried dvd from inputs, scrambled to sound. Is this a covergence repair.

If you go into the customer menu and select convergence and either red or blue will not move in some direction---up and down or left and right--It is a Convergence problem.

I have repaired hundreds of these sets with this type of trouble---it depends on if you have some level of skill at soldering etc---This set uses 2 Convergence chips and both along with any of the protect resistors around them that are bad would have to be replaced.

Check the set in the convergence mode and if you see what I have described let me know---If you can do the repair--I can tell you the best place to get the parts and also what exactly else to look for bad.

If you cannot do this yourself, I have options I can suggest for you---least expensive way is if you can do it yourself---This kind of repair is very common in all rear projection sets--I did 2 today here where I live--about one hour start to finish in someones home.

After it is repaired--it will not have the same problem again for 5-8 years---lifespan of the two chips.

I am here to help---let me know what you find and I am willing to assist you.

I have a convergence problem. My Sony KP-65WS510 has a picture that looks like 3-D and bows at the bottom and top of the screen. I already replaced both the IC's STK 392-560 (2 qty.) and check all six 3.5a...

You have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.
Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in but stationary.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors.

Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself.
