Does it come with an ink ribbon? If so, it's in upside down.

What is the negative and.positive pin on the battery?

The battery terminals have a plus (+) and minus (-) symbol somewhere near the terminal studs. If you cannot find them, use a multimeter set to a proper DC Range. Place the probes on the studs. If the meter reads the voltage, then red probe is on the positive terminal, if the meter pulls backwards the black probe is on the positive terminal.

If using a digital multimeter, a (-) says that the red probe is on the negative terminal.

Mark your battery with a Sharpie somewhere to show the terminal studs.

HDS Gens Touch shows positive red to negative & black to positive?

Lowrance may have goofed on the manual printing. RED is Positive, Black is negative. All these systems have reverse polarity protection. If you wire backwards, the screen will flash on and then automatically turn off.
I install these systems and I have always put the fuse hlder on the positive line at the battery. The fuse holders are always red wires and that may also lead to some confusion if they suggest attaching that to the black lead.
Hope this answers your question.

How do I hook up the bare wires speakers to the back, sound is coming out not good.

Sounds to me like you might have the polarity reversed. Meaning you might have hooked the positive to negative and the negative to the positive. Positive will will be red negative will be black on your receiver. On the speaker wires negative will always be solid black. Positive could be solid red, black with a red stripe, or black with any color stripe. Make sure you have solid black hooked to black and the other hooked to red. Hope this helps:)

The sell a nifty little invention at Wally-World. Its called a wire harness...look for it in the auto parts section. it will wire directly to your stereo wires and then just plug & go... if your subaru wires are missing the harness on the end, its a whole different ballgame, and its gonna be fun...try this...

Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Blue/Yellow
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow/Red
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Green
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown/White
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Green/Black

Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): White/Black
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Red
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Red/Green
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue/Green
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Red

Let me know how it goes!

Help..

Yes aslong as the two wires are not connecting each other. white is the positive and the black is the negative. It's better if you use a voltmeter if you don't want to guess.. connecting the voltmeter to the wires. if the voltmeter goes left or did not respond reverse the test prodes or test pins, if the volt meter show 3-6 volts, look at the color of your testprodes. red is positive and black is negative.

I don't have a wiring diagram for you but can tell you this as standards apply.

Red is always the positive (+) terminal and black the negative, ground, (-) terminal. FYI-though people use the term ground it is not correct.

Another thing you should know is red and black are relative. Inother words, when red to red and black to black it will cause an outward motion of the speaker. If you happen to reverse them, red to black, it just causes an inward motion of the speaker. Sometimes this is refered to as the "phasing" of the speaker.

Speakers are usually marked at their connection points with a red dot or a (+) for the positve and a black dot or (-) for the "negative" side.

So there's nothing to worry about if this happens anyway except:

if you were to go red-black on one speaker, and red-red on the other. This will cause the speakers to be in series which normally wouldn't hurt things, but make sure it's not done just in case you amp section cannot tolerate this condition.

Hope this helps.
