Canon flash does not work

I try to take a picture but when using the flash it just blinks. It will not actually click a picture. The arror symbol (flash) blinks while the orange light flases..but again no picture can be taken.???

The flash has to charge in between shots, so if you are not waiting long enough it won't charge and wont take the shot.

If you are waiting, Im not really sure...
