I would like to replace the 32 gb SSD on the TZ

I would like to replace/upgrade the original 32 gb SSD on the TZ 190N/BC with a compatible 128 gb SSD that I have purchased. Do you offer any Instructions/Tutorials/Pictures/Diagrams on how to do this? Thank you.

Hi

Here is a very good video showing how to do this procedure. The laptop is not the same as yours but the principle is exactly the same and the procedure is very straight forward.

You may or may not have to use the adaptor shown in the video dependant on your model but this will be obvious when you remove the SSD.(do not delete) I would like to replace the 32 gb SSD on the TZ - utube.png
As they say - a picture speaks a thousand words!

Hope this helps. Please do remember to rate my answer as ratings are important to me as an expert on this site.

Thank You

You should have no problem doing this. I've successfully upgraded about a dozen notebooks thus far across all sorts of branded notebooks. I do recommend paying attention to the height of the SSD. Too high and it will fit. The length and width are usually 99% of the time the same as the drive you are replacing, so I would not be too concerned about these measurements.

Can I upgrade the hdd in Flybook V5 (hdd is 80 GB Toshiba MK8009GAH) with an ssd? Which model would do ?

Well, I answer my own question, in case somebody else is interested. I bought a ZIF SSD on ebay (Kingspec 128 GB), after inquiring with the seller if it was compatible (any 1.8' ZIF drive SHOULD be, at any rate) for about $140. Together I also bought, for additional $7.50, an USB - ZIF adapter enclosure and cable. I put the SSD in the USB enclosure and cloned the Flybook harddisk, using Acronis True Image, to te SSD in the USB enclosure. Then I opened the Flyboo. This was not very difficult: there's a protective sticker sheet under the battery, to remove carefully in order to access all the screws, then a lot of screws of 3 different sizes to keep track of. The original harddisk is kept in place just by a sticker sheet which peels off easily enough. Then I replaced the SSD in place of the HD, screwed back all the screws (careful here not to swap different sizes!) and put back in place the sticker sheet under the battery. It just worked at first try, and I'd say it works really great, much faster to boot up and resume from standby.

    Memory Stick error

    Hello!

Following types of memory sticks are compatible with the Camera model DSC-V1:

    Memory stick: 32/64/128 MB
    Memory stick Pro: 256 MB/512 MB/1 GB/2 GB.
Mark 2 Memory stick Pro: 1/2 GB.

However, in order to use Memory Stick Duo or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media with the Camera, a dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached.

Follow the steps given below to troubleshoot the Camera that is not recognizing any compatible memory sticks:

    http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C186797

Furthermore, you may try resetting the Camera to the original factory settings by pressing and holding the Reset button for 30 seconds.

If the issue persists even after performing all the above mentioned steps then the Camera is required to be diagnosed and serviced.

Nikon Coolpix 4600: Problem: It won't take any photos, it reads: THIS CARD CANNOT BE USED. The card is 128 MB. I purchased a new card: 2GB but it won't work also. My manual says to clean the contacts...

    1) Have you formatted the cards?

    2) Try the cards in the card reader in your computer to see if they can be read.

    3) Try the "switch off camera - remove and replace battery - switch on camera" trick with the original 128 Mb card in place. This will reset the camera's memory.

    4) Note the type of card is important - not all cards can be used in a camera (especially some of the latest bigger ones) - check the type of cards supported by your camera.

I found this at the Nikon USA site (note that the 2 GB card is not listed - as said "Cards are not all the same" and use different drivers to operate them):

Question Which Secure Digital Cards are approved for use in the Coolpix 4600/5600? trnsp.gif Answer The Nikon Quality Department has tested the following cards and approved their use in the Coolpix 4600/5600:

    SD memory cards:
    SanDisk 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB, 512MB*, 1 GB
    Panasonic 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB*,1 GB
    Toshiba 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 128 MB*, 256 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB

*High speed type of 10 MB/s or over

Other brands and capacities of cards may work, but Nikon cannot guarantee their operation. Check with the manufacturer of the third-
party card for compatibility information. Nikon recommends keeping one of the approved cards available for troubleshooting.
