My laptop is running and the lights are on, however I can't get the display to come up and when I hit caps nothing happens, I think I locked my keyborad. How do I unlock it?

There are a whole lot of possible things here. It could be that the laptop is overheating, due to dust in the cooling system. It could be that a component in the video system is failing, and will get worse. It could be memory is failing, or the processor...

Things to test. If you laptop has lights for keyboard caps lock or num-lock, do those change when you change them? If not, then the system is hung, and it's not a video thing.

Count the number of flashes. That is the trouble code.

Take out the battery and wait a minute, then put it back and try again.

You need to hold down the FN button and hit F8, let go, then leave it for a couple of seconds and keep trying till an image comes up. and if that doesn't work, give it a try with all of the F buttons. OR you just have a broken laptop

Try and toogle your FN key or connect an external monitor and toggle on FN key

Hi there, dannie. Has anything happened recently that might have caused this issue such as a spilled drink or hard shock? Do any of the lights glow when you hit the lock buttons (CAPS Lock, Scroll Lock, etc)?
