Question about Huffy Cycling
Dora the Explorer Tricycle (green) loose handle bars. I keep tightning the bolt but the handle bars swirve. No control of the front wheel because of it.
You need to install a shim so the bolt has more to clamp on. To do this, loosen the bolt you have been tightening enough that you can pull the handlebars out, then about 3 or 4 more turns. Get an empty soda can and with a pair of scissors, stab into the side of the can near the bottom and cut off the bottom end. Then cut about 2 inches up and cut around the can so you have a roughly 2 by 5 inch strip of aluminum. This is your shim (you may have to trim some length if it doesn't fit). Wrap it around the bottom part of the handlebars where it will go back into the part where the bolt is. Make sure you wrap it tight or it will be hard to put in. Slide the handle bar with the shim on it back into the other tube and tighten the bolt. The end.
