On my cool pix camera once turned on it prompts to set time and date but will not allow me to select either and only scrolls through yes or no. there is no other option and the camera does not function except to ask for time and date.
turning the camera on and off and removing the battery does not fix the problem.

Not 100% sure about this model, but most have another battery in the camera for the clock functions. That battery could be low.
Try looking in the manual for the clock battery and pull that and replace it. See if that helps.

I dont know how to set the time and date

This is for a Nikon Cool Pix Model - Turn your camera on - press the menu button - down arrow to the little wrench picture (select left arrow to get to icons on left of screen) then click down to wrench .. date should be one of your choices click down to date - clik okay or right arrow .. date should appear right arrow and camera will walk you through setting date.

I need to kno how to set the clock

I don't know what kind of digital camera you have so this may or may not be solution:
I have a Vivitar.
Turn on camera, and on mine there is a wheel around the power button, to select, automatic, sports mode, landscape, etc. also a tool (looks like a pix of a wrench on mine) Turn dial to Select Tools.
on mine at this point it shows - BASIC area to turn on/off beeper, etc. and then their is CUSTOM area - move your arrows on your selection button so that you choose CUSTOM and then under there is the date and time - move down to that- and click OK then once in there use your arrows to change the month, day, year - time etc.
may be different on yours, but might still help you

How to set date in coolpixs51?

Select "Date" from the Setup menu. If you have your menu showing icons instead of words, it's the one that looks like a clock showing 9 o'clock. Be aware that the "Auto off" entry uses a similar (if not identical icon).

To get the to the Setup menu, first display the playback-mode or shooting-mode menu by pressing the MODE button. Using the rotary multiselector select the wrench icon and press the OK button.

To reset the date connect Camera to PC. Open Easyshare Software, Go to Tools and Select SYNC. This will usually set the Camera Time/Date to the PC Time and Date. I have the same problem,(DX7630) cannot Move to the Right or use the Enter on Joy Stick so I am stuck with the Settings that were used last. I have contacted Kodak and there are No replacement Parts available. Just Great, I have a perfectly working Camera($500) and all accessories but it is basically useless due to a defective $1.00 Part. Last Kodak I will ever Buy.

This will always be displayed in your camera. However to choose what will imprint on the pix :

Turn your dial to SETUP and select DATE IMPRINT. Then select OFF (nothing will imprint on pix), or DATE (for just the date to be imprinted), or DATE and TIME (for both time and date to be imprinted)

How do i reset my camera

After selecting flash off mode the camera determine the shutter speed according to the available light which may be rather slow. Therefore either camera shakes or the object or may be both of them while taking pictures. That's why pictures are blurry. Keep camera steady or mount it on a tripod while taking pictures on flash off mode. Once u set the date & time and select OK I think it will not bother u again.
