Problem for DVD Players

Generic problem for all DVD Players

HITACHI PDV313 Unit switchs on then off

When i switch the unit on, the blue welcome screen switches on for about 1 second and then the backlight switchs off. If you shine a light on the screen you are able to view picture. It plays dvds fine also. hope someone can help, thanks
