My mouse doesn't move. i unpluged it and repluged it nothing happens. It was working before and now i turned my computer on it doesn't work. can you help me . lois

You may have one of two kinds of mice. One has a round green colored connector, the other one has a flat connector.

If you have the first kind, with the green colored connector( called a PS/2 mouse), shutdown your computer using the keyboard (Press the Windows key, then press the U key. Then, once again press the U key to shutdown.

Now insert the green connector into the corresponding green connector at the back of the computer. If it's already connected, unplug it and inspect whether it has any bent or broken pin inside the green connector. If not, then carefully re-insert in, taking care about the notch. Alight it with the notch on the green connector on the computer side. Both of them may have an arrow.

If you have the second type of mouse, with the flat connector (called a USB mouse), you need not shutdown and just unplug it and re-inserting it in the USB port should make it work, even when Windows is running.

If your mouse doesn't work, even after you tried the above, test it on some other computer, using the same methods mentioned above. If it doesn't work on the other computer, it's defective and may need a replacement.

Hope that helps.

My Compaq labtop doesnt work..need help !

I'm going to assume that you are using Windows XP. Since you have saved all of your work and need nothing from the hard drive, my best advice to you is to put in your XP disk and allow the system to boot from the disk. Click on "Install Windows XP" It will look for other Windows installations. Once it has found the old installation, follow the directions to delete your partition. Usually, once on the screen where it askes you what you want to do, is press "D" then "ENTER" then "L". Then, it will ask you to partition this drive. It will give you a series of numbers in megabytes.....just click the "OK" button. Once this is done, you can format the drive and make sure that it is in the NTFS format, and install Windows. This will clear any errors on the drive that is preventing Windows from running correctly.

Hope this helps you.

No boot, New PS, Green light on MB lights, No Fans running

Bottom line: Either your power supply or (hopefully not) the mother board has gone bad.
Replace power supply (remove old one), take to local independent computer shop, ask them for new unit. Should be around $50.00. - no more. After reinstall, if still no fans, boot, etc. Replace motherboard or buy a new machine. MB's installed probably will run you around $250.00-ish.
Good luck.

Can't turn on computer

you may try:
1)open cover take out all exterior devices like cdrom/HD/PCI card/AGPcard then power on, go next if nothing change.
2)open cover see any fan turning when power on , if nothing run, check biger power supply plug pin(Ps-on and 5Vsb)all at 5V are OK, less than 3V or nothing is power supply box damage. change new power box to test. still same trouble go next
2)open cover you can see a LED light on on the motherboard
and check power on button is working well(switch).
3) check all biger capacitor top, any one bulged shows motherboard DC damage and need to repair by PC specialist.
4) nothing change above, you have to change motherboard.
