Polaroid i631 lens is open, but can't turn on camera. Makes 3 beeps and shuts down. Tried new batteries and didn't help.

I would like a second opinion. The lens looks to be open, but somewhat crooked. The 3 beeps is consistent and automatically shuts off the camera after initialization.

Thank you for responding. I will take it to my local camera repair shop.

THE LENS MOTOR IS LIKELY THE PROBLEM OR THE LOGIC CIRCUIT THAT RUNS THE CAMERA FUNCTIONS, IF IT DOESN'T OPERATE THE CAMERA WILL DEFAULT AND SHUT OFF, THE THING HERE IS THE CAMERA CAN'T BE REPAIRED BY U THE CONSUMER, IT WILL NEED PARTS TO FIX THIS AND A REPAIR MANUAL TO FIGURE HOW IT COMES APART, THEY DON'T SELL PART'S OR PROVIDE TECH MANUALS TO THE CONSUMER, ONLY KODAK AUTHORIZED REPAIR CENTERS CAN GET PARTS AND HAVE THE BOOKS TO TAKE THE CAMERA APART AND DIAGNOSE IT.

THE LENS BEING JAMMED IS THE PROBLEM BUT LIKE I SAID THERE IS MOST LIKELY A BROKEN PART THAT CAUSED THIS, U WILL IN THE END EITHER REPLACE OR SEND THE CAMERA IN FOR REPAIR. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS SCENARIO BEFORE WITH OTHER DIGITAL CAMERA'S WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS.

The lense is not reaching the limit switch telling it it is fully extended.
The camera "times out" after 5 seconds to protect itself and shuit down.
(it is expecting the limit to be made)
There is more than likely debris (sand, lint, hair) preventing the lense from extending.
Take it to a local camera repair shop and have it cleaned for around $30 to prevent more damage (motor or gear) and a bigger bill
:D

My Polaroid camera i631 won't turn on!!

Here is the solution for your problem. If you look at your camera at an angle, you will see the zoom lens is little bent to the side. I want you to put press on it to snap-it into it's place. After you heard a click, then turn-on your camera. This will fix your cam.

Polaroid i631 digital camera

I have the same camera and the same problem, if you use lithium batteries it keeps the charge longer because regular batteries aren't strong enough. Hope that helps you! :)

Polaroid i631 digital camera

Daughter received camera as Christmas gift. Camera beeps three times and does nothing. I guess this camera is only good until the warranty runs out, 90 days. We have tried several new batteries and the expensive rechargeable type also. VERY UNHAPPY!!!!!
