Hi I am Vortash most people forget that the batteries supplied with most cameras are not of supreme quality and after a short time will stop charging .. true the indicator says they are charged as they are shorted out but in actual fact they are deader than the DO DO's , the cheapest option before you think of a repair dealer is to eliminate this by getting a new set of Ni cads and even if it isn't the fault you have at least a spare pair for your next camera .. regards Vortash

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Try securely emptying your trash. After turning on your computer, hold down the 'option' button, click the 'Finder' menu in the upper left and choose 'Secure Empty Trash.'

I have a 4gb ipod blue screen hour glass...nothing else.

Have you actually been holding down all buttons? If so you will want to reset the ipod. Just in case you are unsure as to how to reset the ipod I have posted a step by step below. Hope it helps you :)

Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer.

Wheres my main menu

Mine did the exact same thing here is how i fixed it. Access recovery menu.
1. turn off ps3
2. hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. once the system has been shut down, re-press your finger until you hear 2 conscutive beeps (2 quick beeps)
4. when you hear the 2 beeps take your finger off the power button
5. you will be prompted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the ps button
6. the recovery menu will pop up

Now i tried the Restart System and it didnt do anything. I was not sure which one to select, so I then clicked Restore PS3 System. I lost everything, but I got it working again!!

Camera turns on then immediately shuts off

I have the same problem - 4 fast beeps and it turns off. My guess is that the lubricants are getting old and sticky - I had a Canon SLR that developed the same problem after being in the extreme cold. Here's a couple of things to try:
  • You can still access the picture review features by holding down the review button while you turn it on (note that if you hold down the trash button you'll see the firmware version.)
  • What doesn't work: Resetting the camera from the setting menu; replacing the battery, replacing the SD card, cursing.
  • I've been able to consistently get it to function normally by hitting the camera into the palm of my hand on the left side (with the viewing screen facing you), just after turning on the camera.  If this doesn't work, keep hitting harder until it works.  Once on, the camera works normally.

Common problem...yet no working solution...

I think there's a capacitor that holds a charge for the blue-ring-of-death. The fix is to hold the menu button down for about 30 seconds (blue ring disappears) and continue holding for about 15 more seconds (or until re-boot). The additional time is required to discharge the capacitor.
If that fails, there is a safe-mode: place the device in hold, and press the mic and menu buttons at the same time. This usually doesn't apply to the blue-ring problem, but it may help.

DO SOLUTION #2 ON HERE. HOLD DOWN MIDDLE BUTTON AND MENU BUTTON AT SAME TIME FOR ABOUT 40 LONG SECONDS. WHEN YOUR FINGERS START TO HURT...YOU KNOW...I WORKED FOR ME...MY IPOD WORKED FINE EVENTHOUGH LOW CHARGE. THEN IT JUST SHUT OFF. WHEN I TRIED TO CHARGE IT, IT DID NOTHING, NOTHING ON IPOD, NOTHING SHOWED UP ON COMP. I TRIED THE 40 SEC THING AND IM BACK UP...THANKS GUYS!

Lens won't open and retract.

It sound like a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!
