I have dont this, in order to do this you need a screwdriver and some wir cutters. fist unplug the subwoofer, the the right speaker with the knob has the controll unit inside of it so we need to open the right speaker, unplug the speaker fom the chip. (ONLY IF YOUR SURE YOU WANT THIS AS A STAND ALONE SUB) then you need to cut the solid black cord that lead to the other speaker. you can also cut the leads that went to the right speaker. undo the hot glue on the inside back of the speaker and gently pull out the funky master cord. you need to unplugh the chip that has the volume controll on it. once the cord is out you can reconnect teh chip to the master cord. i suggest mounting this chip to the top of your subwoofer. you can do this using a lot of hot glue or sticky tack. anthign that does not onduct electricty thats is tacky and wont daage that chipo you can use. and further question contact me at rdrteck@gmail.com

You can use the subwoofer as a stand alone speaker setup.

SOURCE: 5 computer speakers w/ subwoofer

1) Check the connections of your speaker wire at both the speaker and the PC. It's possible something might have come loose or is starting to become worn.

2) Try moving the speaker or your tower/cpu to another location, or if not, move any new accessories away from the speakers and wires. It is possible that you are getting interference from a new accessory or appliance (like printers or other electromagnetic devices).

3) Let me (us) know what the brand and model of speaker it is. Maybe there's more specific info we can provide.

SPEAKERS WORK, WOOFER DOES NOT

as far as i know these speakers contain the and everything else in the subwoofer. The good news is that the system itself works, as the speakers produce sounds. If you feel like taking the system apart yourself , you may check for some wires that got de-attached from the subwoofer, if not, i would advise you to take the system to check it by technical support.

check all the wires and attach your music system to any other system to see if its is working..if not there might be a hardware issue with your music system .show it to any tehnical shop who repairs computer devices like woofers to find problem.

Encore subwoofer not getting any power

Might be a power supply for the amp. Are you handy with a VOM? You can check the power supply output pretty easily. If not, some local electronics repair guys will diagnose / estimate repairs for free .. especially if you already have the unit apart (just did that very thing myself). Then you can make the choice of repair / replace.

Good luck.

Speakers do not work

You blew the amplifier in the speakers. If you are an electronics hobbyist and have some time you can probably fix it, otherwise they are not economically repairable. Probably not what you wanted to hear but the fact is PC speakers are fairly inexpensive these days and used units can be picked up even cheaper.
