Poulan Pro Wild Thing will only run with choke out. Carb has been fully rebuilt and new lines added. As soon as throttle is pulled and choke pops off, engine dies. Any recommendations/suggestions? Thanks,...

If not already done replace the fuel filter in the tank, it is obviously fuel starvation, if no better increase the the fuel mixture on the H and L screws ( turn anti clockwise 1/4 turn on each to start with)

Describe your 18" Wild Thing

Check your chain tensioner. It is a little metal tab on a screw inside of the cover. If it is missing the tab that sticks out, you need a new one.
You can't really just put any chain on it with more teeth. You have to make sure you have a matching bar to go with it. The good news is, most of the big box hardware stores have "easy match" bars and chains. This will be sure you don't screw up and get the wrong chain for the wrong bar. Be warned though, running anything longer than the factory chain will likely decrease performance. The saws aren't really meant for heavy logging.

I have a brand new wild thing chain saw and was using it today in the yard and it threw the chain,I put the chain back on the correct way and now the chain will not turn,The hand break is not on,can...

First get a pair of gloves and try and turn the chain by hand with the motor not running, does it turn easily and if not I would check the chain tensioning and also for debris in the clutch area that caused the chain to come off. remove the side cover and make sure nothing causing it to hang up. Then put saw back together and retension and the way to do this is to hold up on the nose of the bar and tighten the screw until you can only lift the chain and barely see the drive teeth in the middle of the bar exposed, snug down the locking nut and again rotate the chain by hand, Also while checking everything out check the bar to make sure it didn't get damaged. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Remove the bar and chain. Start the engine and observe the side of the engine where the bar fits to it. The oil port there should ooze oil out when the engine runs fairly fast. If nothing, then investigate the filter within the oil tank for plugging, the oil line from the tank to the pump for any damage or decay, and the oil pump itself. The pump should discharge directly to the port that the bar receives. If oil did ooze out of the port on the first test, then clean the oil passages in the bar end--two small channels that run from each large hole out to the chain groove on each side. Clean the entire chain groove. Check the sprocket on the other end for fairly free turning--oil it's bearing. Examine the chain carefully--if it got so hot that it turned the teeth blue--replace the chain, it has lost it's tempering. Assemble bar and chain--adjust the chain so that the lower side doesn't droop from the bar, and you can turn the chain by hand. The teeth cut toward you on the bottom run. If the old chain is being reused, sharpen the chain carefully so that it cuts quickly without undue effort on your or the engine's part. Hope this helps!
