Question about Sony VAIO VGC-RA830G (27242667815) PC Desktop
This could be a memory problem.
Try this, download memtest x86+:
Unzip it and burn the iso to a CD using the burn image to disc option.
Place the CD in the tray of the computer and the program will start up itself. (If it does not then you will need set your computer to boot from your CD ROM Drive in the BIOS. At the VAIO screen it should say press F2 to enter setup. (Maybe it is something other than F2 but I think it is F2 on a Sony). In the bios there should be a menu that says boot or boot order and there you will see your CD Drive. Make sure it is higher than your hard drive on the list. Normally it is by default so you shouldn't really need to do this bit.
If there are errors when the program starts running the checks then it is a memory problem. If you are capable then you should remove each of your RAM modules individually (If you have more than one, If not then contact Sony if you still have warranty and order a replacement). Then start the machine and run the CD again. If you have one RAM stick that fails and another that doesn't then you have found the broken RAM. You can contact Sony and ask for a replacement if you are still within warranty.
I hope this helps you out,

Dust covering critical components will prevent the normal cooling that is necessary to prevent overheating.
Places where dust collects and actually sticks on are exterior air vents, cooling fan blades and cooling vents.
Carefully, unplugging the PC, removing outer chasis, cover, etc.
With a regular vacuum cleaner and an old toothbrush, or old paintbrush, you can free the area(s) that are dust covered, and vacuum the dust out.
Replace the parts you removed.
Plug in the PC, and reboot.
This solution has worked more than once for me and my friends.
