Re: Vaccuum Seal

Barnes, this sounds right. This may be a pretty big job, though. Some gaskets are not installer friendly. They are also you'll not want to ruin them. Also, allow enough time to do a full defrost in the freezer (maybe a day) before restarting your unit. There will be quite a bit of liquid in the drain tray below the unit. Also, clean up the coils below the unit for best efficiency.

Replaced freezer gaskets now not sealing well

Jay, Check to see if hinge can be adjusted so door closes tighter, may be a faulty door seal, or maybe it needs manipulated to soften, shape, stretch it to seal better. You can try the dollar bill trick between the seal and fridge to locate the problem/leaking spots. The bill should not pull out with out there being a little force, no force means seal is not proper in that area. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

Hi Vince,

Thanks for the posting in FIXYA.

Please repair the Freezer door as it is not sealing, due to which cooling is affected. If it is under warranty then contact to the manufacturer as soon as possible.

Electrolux Built in freezer door not closing.

I'm suspecting the door also because of the lack of suction power. you have to check the gasket more. Frost around the door is a great indication of where warm moist air is coming into it.

Either the defrost timer, defrost heater or defrost termination thermostat have failed. The rack and the sheet metal at the back of the inside of the freezer would have to come out to access the evaporator coil.
Need your model # to be able to ascertain what parts you might need.

My frigidaire refrigerator is sweating on the inside. what should i do? its a one door model with ice maker and freezer on top. i don't remember the model. 5 years old.

High humidly could cause condensation or the magnetic seal could be bad.
A couple of things to try;
The easiest thing to do first is to clean around the rubber seal very good with mild soap and water and the metal which the magnetic rubber seal contacts to seal the door. If you find a crack or a deformation of the seal it will let condensation it the refrigerator.
Does the freezer auto defrost or is a lot of ice bult up around the freezer walls? If so manually defrosted the freezer.
Dripping from the Ice maker water supply?
