Hi I am Vortash It depends where you live I am afraid here in the uk the manufacturers guarantee is for 12 months only regardlesss but the owness of satisfactory goods is with the seller under the consumer act of 1998 and that is that all goods sold by a retailer should be fit for their use and if it only last's 2 years then it's not fit , the regulations say that goods are covered for 6 years and that the seller is responsible for their repair .. If However you live in the us I am sorry I dont know what your consumer rights are but you check it out as it is possible you are protected in the same way .. here in the Uk you can check this out on http://www.bbc.co.uk/theoneshow hope this is of help regrads Vortash

FIRST...You need to give a model number and be more specific about a display board. In general, most sets today are failing within two years and sooner.

Toshiba smart tv picture flashes on and off still I changed both boards inside tv

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Sanyo tv troubleshooting

Hello, the good thing is that the led flashing is a blinking fault signal, the blinking means there's a faulty circuit. here's what you may want to do if your semi electronically inclined find a online service manual site, and at times it is possible to try a free manual search for your specific model,. the amount of times the light blinks will determine the faulty board. exchanging that board or repairing the faulty components it the tricky part. working at high heat levels and for extended periods of time may overheat and damage internal circuits and this is typical with these flat screens. but different manufacturers have different blink codes so it's a model specific manual you will need for this repair, and as in the other previous answers you may want to consider shipping/part cost/ before you go about servicing it. If you can handle this type of repair check auction sites for the boards it is way cheaper than service center pricess for boards, hope this helps.. have a great day.

I switched the tv on and it gave me a green screen , the sound is ok

There are several reasons for displaying a green screen to Sony LCD TVs. If the main digital board's video digital processing section has got damaged, a green screen will be displayed and audio output will be OK. If panel faulty the result will be the same as above. Check this link. It has details and screen shots to various faults to Sony LCDs. Check it and determine, whether you can repair this fault by yourself.

Faulty Acoustic solutions TV - no / flickering picture

You can reasonably make that claim only if a) the TV was in warranty when it started happening, or b) it is happening to so many of these sets that it might be considered breach of an implied warranty (or something like that).

Sanyo DP42746 - Screen went black and no sound. Power light on.

The TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Vertical lines on plasma screen

This is a result of faulty or dying dip i.c.'s on the tv's logic board.
there are several that span the width of the tv, when one goes faulty it results in a vertical line.. often yellow.
the logic board is most likely small, containing at least 1 big chip wich is the micro... contact tv manufacturer and try to get a replacement. if not there are many 3rd party supplyers of oem parts
