Question about Samsung DVD-HR735 DVD Recorder/HDD Recorder
My Samsung DVD HR735 won't always recognize DVD's. Spits them out, even though they are the right region, have previously been played on the same machine and are playble elsewhere. Sometimes a DVD that has been rejected countless times will suddenly be accepted. It has been sent in for repair twice - didn't help at all. I'm going to throw it out as rubbish and advise against Samsung products unless someone has a solution.

It sounds like the laser in the DVD player is getting weak or has alignment problems. If the DVD that did not play in the samsung but played in others. I would tend to think its not alignment since you mentioned that it's been repaired before. Chances are the laser is weak but still within spec in order to prevent replacement. When My dvd players start to go they will generally stop recognizing burned media and thats your clue to replace it. They are very inexpensive to replace nowadays and have almost become disposable items. Probably not what you wanted to hear but it sounds like's like this player wasnt made very well.

The lazer focus is weak you can adjust the lazer voltage so it has more energy going into the lazer ie,voltage,is the pressure that pushes current ie, energy basically the lazer at present is not creating enough energy for the logic data, etc to return through the lazer, into the rest of the circuits to give you an image, sound etc on the screen, the wavelength of energy isnt enougth to reflect off the bottom of the dvd,cd etc,it,s best to let a proffesional to adjust the bias voltage to red lazer,as to much will burn any media disc you load, another way is to adjust the distance between lazer and disc,by adjusting the screws that fix the dvd drive height, little bit at a time, till there is enough data return ,ie load read ,picture etc, then when you get it to load, check whether there is enough lazer power, current, etc by seeing if it formats a disc if it doesnt, adjust a bit more till it does i did all this stuff with a panasonic ez 48 v,samsung 270 m,etc, samsungs tend to have a design fualt ie power regulation to the lazer i wouldn,t want another samsung player, cheers.
