Question about Siemens SpeedStream SS2105 Networking Switch

Open Question

Unable to browse internet with the ss2105 switch; it was working fine--however, suddenly it uses the private ip address unless I manualy configure it. Switch connects to the network after manual config, but will not connect to the internet. Also, unable to ping other host NICs or the dsl connection from the client. The host is directly connected to the dsl connection thru a second nic. The dsl connection is PPOe Thanks for your advice!

SOURCE: Static Ip with Speedstream 4200 Modem

I am assuming here with the way you have it set up your getting an internet connection.
what you saying i understsand mostly so i'll see if i can help you
first of all you have speedstreem modem that connects to you isp, this is assign your internet address from the isp if you paid for a static IP it would be in here, if not it's assiged by a dhcp from your isp company so if you if turn it off or have a power loss for anymore than 5-15min your ip changes.
now your modem then connects into your belkin router this as well as your modem it's prob set up as dhcp so it wants to issue each computer with an internal address of 192.168.0.X the reason for this is so it knows where to send the incomming information to what computer.
no matter what computer your using the address that goes over the internet will be the one assigned to modem from internet provider so if this need to be static IP to run your game server you will have contact your internet provider for an address.
but you may be confussing the issue a little, my suggestion to you would be:
1. go to your connections on each computer
2. right click on the lan connection choose properties
3. go to internet protocol (TCP/IP) then click properties
4. then click on obtain ip automatically and obtain dns automatically
this will remove the static windows address you may have put in.
try this and see if you can get you game or game server will work.
btw you may have to reboot your computers after this to get be sure to get the new address.

Internet Explore Cannot Display the Webpage
As you browse the Web with Internet Explorer, you may occasionally encounter an error message about the browser being unable to display the requested Web page.
If your browser is unable to display a page, the issue lies somewhere along the path from your computer to the remote website. In some cases, you can resolve the issue by troubleshooting your computer or Internet connection. Internet Connection Issue

If none of the computers in your home can browse, the problem is related to your Internet connection.
In some cases, you can resolve an Internet connection issue by unplugging the power connections for your broadband modem and router temporarily.
If you are still unable to browse, contact your Internet service provider for further assistance.

OK so if I understand you correctly, you see 0Mbps under "Link Speed" correct?
If you can browse at normal speeds and your ability to browse the Internet is fine, then this is a simple Bug. There are several Bugs in the Wireless client on the Kindle Fire, so this does not surprise me. If you are unable to browse the internet, reply back with the make and model of your Wireless router.

Ok, the next time when the disconnection occurs. Try the following:

Open command prompt. And try pinging www.google.com, if the ping is successful and you are still unable to access the internet, then you may want to check the proxy settings on your web broswer, or possibly repair/reinstall the browser. You can also try accessing the internet on a different browser.

If you are unable to ping google successfully, then try to ping the IP address of your wifi modem, this is your default gateway. If you are unable to ping this address successfully, then check the cable from the DES-1008D switch to the wifi modem. As a local area connection 'connected' just shows that the link from your PC to switch is fine.

Please try these steps and let me know the results.

Regards..

Unable browse internet using wlan/wi fi

whatever computer you are connected to needs activsync which you can get from windowsmobile.com. when connected you have to change the settings to allow for data transfer and internet connections. then you can browse. as for wireless, you have to have the internet package to unlock the block in explorer to make this work. I wonder if unlocking the phone would eliminate that.
