Question about Samsung HL-R4266W 42" HDTV-Ready Projection Television
It is best to replace the Lamp and Ballast at the same time because if you only replace one or the other, the part you did not replace might reverse damage the new part. Locate the Lamp Door on the rear of the set and remove it. You will see a Lamp Module inside with a Handle. Loosen the two screws and remove the Lamp. DO NOT TOUCH THE FRONT GLASS AT ALL!!!. If you see shattered glass inside, then you have a bad Lamp. Look on the Left side of the set and you will see a Orange sticker labeled Lamp Code. Record that code and purchase a Lamp and Ballast. There are a number of Lamps and Ballast listed for this tv so the Lamp code is important when ordering from online merchants or you have a trained Samsung tech take care of this for you. 1-800-Samsung can give information on the best shop to call locally that they trust.
