1 Answer

Internet and was running fine. turned it off then went to use it later but this rectangle box appeared in the top left hand corner with a star like symbol in it, when you hover mouse over it, it says new item, waiting to configure. Also when you click on the internet the info bar at bottom does not appear. When you click on settings it won't let you click on connect to internet, and network centre will not open. Have tried the F10 and alt thing but it will not let me reset to factory settings

Small black box in upper left corner of Sony TV - need to remove

I had a similar problem on my Toshiba Regza but trying my fix couldn't hurt. I use a satellite dish for TV (if you do the same this might work)... I turned off my receiver, took the programming card out, cleaned it with my shirt (especially the part that looks like a computer chip), put it back in the receiver, turned it back on and when everything reinitialized the black rectangle was gone.

Hope this helps.

Inspiron 1520-before finishes loading desktop screen goes black..

As it works ok in safe mode, I suggest you check that your graphics drivers are up to date.

You should be able to download the latest from the Dell website.

Acer one notebook not connecting to internet

Hi Kat,

Ok, firstly i would recommend restoring all back to factory settings as it would appear that this a a configuration problem and that should fix it as i believe there is no personal or data to be backed up as yet.IF there is, simply back it up to a thumb drive.

To restore to factory settings(Like it has just come out of the box basicly) When the laptop starts up hold down ALT and keep pressing F10.

A screen should appear with configuration settings and an option to system restore.

Select system restore and it should have prompts from there.

I had the same problem for awhile too.
The box is your call equalizer settings.  The descending line indicates "boost bass" and the ascending line indicates "boost treble"
This usually only shows when you have your BB headset connected, to change the settings:
-plug in your headset -make a call, (voice mail works good for this) -press your menu button -select "Enhance Call Audio"
-make your selection
You'll see your choice on the screen
Let me know if this helps 208E019D

Panasonic TH58PX600U 58 in. HDTV Plasma. Image is Distorted

I could not see the image you say you included in your description. If the rectangle is black (and not just an outline) it may be the box associated with captioning or text descriptions. Use your setup menu or remote control to turn captioning/text off.
