Why are kitchen drawer slides jerking and noisy while opening and closing?

possibly something obstructing slide travel has lodged on one edge. suggest open it again, and check that. lubricate the mechanism.

You need to get under the unit. There is a bolt and nut that sheared and the shaft that moves the unit in and out is turning without the bolt and nut in place. This commonly occurs when the slide out has not been greased and it has been squealing for some time. If you could just get the slide even on both sides and then align the shaft hole with the rod and then install th bolt and nut you will complete the repair. Also, underneath you will possibly find the sheared bolt and nut , it usually falls out when you remove the rubber chassis cover to expose the shaft turning rod, good luck...

Look for help on Google by searching for the make and model of slide mechanism. Most manufacturers provide troubleshooting and service help, and emergency retraction instructions.

On most RV the connection is close to the slide out. Often at a duplex in or close to the inside non-sliding wall. Check to see if there is a GFI wall plug that is tripped. It could be anywhere in the RV and sometimes the circuit layout seems to be without reason. Be sure to check the GFI in the bathroom and also the one in the kitchen. When you find the GFI hit the off button and then reset them, then check your tv for power. GFI's protect everything down circuit against shorts or prone to be wet locations. As sooner or later there may be some leakage at a slide out, it makes sense to have the plug in protected.

I can only assume this is an RV you are talking about. No there should not be slack. I would start by finding the manual slide out mechanism. It will be a hand crank type or unit. Manually slide the kitchen unit out and then try to slide it back in with the button. That will either bring it all the way back in or you can see that the motor is bad or the limits are off.

depending on model and which slide u want out. u can use an long shafted socket. u have to find the bolt under slide. it works just like a scissor jack. it will take a lot of cranking but it can be done.

Is this the system with the cables on the side? If so, they should, via a system of pulleys, be routed to the top of the slide on the inside of the coach. There you will see a few adjustment points. Before you do that, have you lubed the slide seals? If not, use 100% silicone spray and lube the seals good. The seals can get tacky and grab the slide making it jump when in motion. You will also want to mark the adjustment bolt before making any adjustments just incase you need to go back to the original setting.

Depends on the type of drawer slide. The easy glide when pulled all the way out will have a small black finger type tab on each side. One will push down and the other lift up to release the drawer. If they are free rolling basic drawer guides there should be a lock tab in the center toward the back of the drawer that you will push up to release the drawer. However, there is usually an access pane or a dummy wall that can be remove to give you better access to the pump.
