My Philips model 37PFL5322D 36" flat screen HDTV has no picture and a chirping sound from this part in the middle circuit board , can anybody tell me what this part is called and how to fix it

The board that controls the screen ranges from 36 to 90 bucks or so. You can replace it yourself using only a screw driver to take the back off and the four screws holding the board to the chassis.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

sounds like the Main Elec on the PSU is bad and needs changing

Is the FBT,the high voltage transformer.The big black block of plastic with a red wire solder to a board.MIght even have to change transistors deflection board also.

Mine had the same problem, and it turned out to be the power board.

There are many other fuses on this board you need to check them all. May need a schematic.
