Question about Kyocera SoHo KX1 Cellular Phone
My texting seems to be "locked up." When I go to the texting screen there is a message that says: "Attention, updating messages, please check later." It started with my phone turning itself off last night (I didn't turn it off---it turned itself off) When I turned the phone back on, the problem was there. Help!!!

Dear Young, if you get this message this is probably because of poor signals because cellphone sends signal to BTS which transfers data to BSC and it reaches the MSC and this is how it decodes itself on other side.
If you are getting this message your server is unable to send the message due to network congestion. You can try again later. If that is a continous problem and you are sure there is nothing wrong with signals you can check your text settings. Your message number could be wrong. You can call your helpline.
If that has helped you please press 'fixya'

It may not be the phone. It could be your location actually. If you have replaced the phone, and it still happens, thats what the problem is. Sometimes the service area you are in, gets a horrible signal, even though your phone says you dont. It could be that. Try going somewhere else, and see if that works. Good luck.

Try to check with Kyocera's website to see if there is a software update for your phone. If not, make sure no water damage has been done to the phone or if you have dropped it this can cause it as well. Dial *228 then reset your phone (turn it off then back on) try that, if that does not work try calling your phone company to get a replacement phone at no cost because it sounds like a Manufacturer problem.

ok, I had my k9- it was stashed in my filthy backpack, so I washed my backpack in the washer..forgot the phone for like..30 minutes..big screw-up- i pulled my soaking and newly cleaned k9 out of the washer and was like.i am screwed..I spoke to friend the next day and this is important advice..DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON! But Take out the battery, Then get uncooked rice-yes rice (no joke) get a air-tight zip lock -container -fill the container with rice and put the phone inside-seal-it-up...the rice will absorb all the excess moisture..if you leave it in..24-48 hours..no joke it worked for me..but if you try to turn it on before it is dry..you will fry the phone..disconnect battery.. put in dry-uncooked rice-air seal-wait 24-48-hours..wallla a dry -functioning phone..good luck--steve-o

your phone has a virus and needs a hard reset available at the lg store where you bought it or any other store than handles lg.

Maybe your phone has configured a wrong Message Service Center Number, you could compare it with another cell phone from the same company of yours.
