Garage door opener (Lift Master LM2610) buzzes twice, no movement

I have the same problem. When I push the remote or wall switch, the main unit buzzes twice but nothing happens. A month ago the same thing happened to my other opener, and after some inspection of the gears inside, and the track/chain system (all was free to move easuily, and showed little wear), and after pulling the red rope to release the door/load completely from the main unit, I gave in and replaced the whole system. So, since this is the second time in a month that this has happened (same symptom, different opener - other one was a Craftsman also made by Chamberlain), I'm determined to get to the bottom of it. I'm suspiscious of the motor-starter, but haven't investigated yet. CAUTION: The motor starter capacitor is charged up and ready to strike, even when power is off, so don't touch it!

On the rear of your motor unit just to the left of all those white wires you will see a small light. If this is flickering randomly it is normal. Check it to see if it is sending a code. If so it will flash a number of times and then pause and repeat. Let me know what the code is. You say the capacitor is charged and ready to go. How have you determined this. That capacitor can cause the unit to not run. Take a look at the end the wires go to and see if it is leaking.

My Lift Master garage door will not close. It makes the closing noise but the door does not slide down. Whcan I talk to to fix this?

Sounds like you have a chain drive garage door opener and you hear a humming sound when you push the wall console. The motor is running but the chain does not move. You need to replace the gear & sprocket assembly.

Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener motor just buzzes when the remote is pushed no movement

Check to see if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so loosen the chain enough to remove the tension of the trolley. Now run the motor until the door closes. While the door is closed, locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

Garage door open and closes by itself bighornenterprises@live.com

Anytime a door opens and/or closes randomly or doesn’t work consistently I look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button.

If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation and activate the door or interfere with the remote signal.

Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples.

The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button.
Or a remote in someone’s purse that gets the button pushed by other stuff in the purse.

The test is to disconnect the push button wires at the power unit. If the self operation / interference stops you have located the problem. If you reconnect the wires and disconnect the wire at the wall button this will tell you if the problem is the wire or the button.

Lift-master 2000SDR remotes will open but not close garage door. Same problem with all clickers and even those programmed into the cars. What could this be and better yet, how do I fix it?

Lift-Master 2000SDR opener. Opener generally works fine from the remotes. However, first time in the morning in cooler weather, it will start to close and the reverse and the lights blink. I have checked the senors - appear to be aligned properly. I have lubed the gear and used garage door spray on the rollers and hinges at the proper places. To close the door when this happens, I have to hold the wall button.
