Wired X-box controler problems

My wired xbox controler (not xbox360) is not responding. I tried changing the end piece that goes into the xbox but it still doesn't work. every few seconds, I am told to insert controler into slot 1 and press start.

Bend the cable and have a game playing so that you know when you hit a dead spot.mark the spot that is makeing it pause.go about 3cm above and below it.take a pair of scissors and cut at the points.strip the wires and twist them together.color goes with each other color green goes with green red goes with red.i used hot glue to keep them from falling apart.just have a little come out of the nozzle then stick the wire in the nozzle.rap it in electrical tape and test it out again for bad spots.if you want to you can take a old camera usb cable and strip both ends ad attach it to the xbox controller to make a xtended cable.if you make the extender cable don't worry about the yellow wire just leabe it out///trust me this works for i have did the usb mod to my xbox and cut of the original connector and put a regular usb on the end.i now use the controller to play halo on my comp. if you got any questions please email me at

My XBOX 360 wired controller is barely a month old and it has stopped working already. Every time I try to connect the controller to my PC (Windows 7), it says device not recognized. I have tried...

I have to ask the question have you contacted Microsoft about this issue? Since the device is only one month old it is still under full factory warranty. Also you question is confusing in that you talk about an xbox360 conrtoller that has stopped working but do not define if it stopped working with your xbox 360 and you are now trying to have an xbox360 device work with a PC instead of xbox360. Please get back to me with more accurate information. But you best bet is to contact microsoft since it is still under warranty.

How do i set my xbox360 up on line

Hi Heather,
It depends on how you are trying to set it up, wired or wireless, modem or router, the easiest is wired, just plug one end of an ethernet cable into the console, the other end into your modem or router, go to your my xbox page, click on join xbox live, then just follow the on screen prompts, you might be lucky for it to go through automatically,or it may need setting up manually.
If this solution helped remember to thumbs up.
If you need help setting up manually, comment for more free assistance.

Xbox controller won't connect to xbox

If it's a wired controller, make sure the wire inside is not damaged (If it's cut or torn) you don't have to take it apart, also if the end of the usb is missing a piece of the metal conductor that could be another reason. If it's wireless make sure you hit the sensor button on the controller then the xbox, it should be a round button to the left of the disc tray (vertically standing). Or below it (horizontally sitting). It should work if not, check batteries. Hope this helped.
Good Luck. Message me if you have any more questions.

Rockband 360 problem

have you checked the batteries? also try re-syncing them to the 360. are you using wireless or wired? if wired, sometimes the usb ports get worn out, try using the one in the back above the av port. good luck!
