Question about Sony RM-LJ304 LCD Remote Control

1 Answer

Batteries leaked, cleaned as best I could, but doesn't work! removed two screws to access inner panel, but it wouldn't open. (I hoped to clean further}. with fresh batteries, I've tried to turn on my amp, but no go. the display on the remote doesn't function either.

If you have had a battery leak then this is a very bad thing. It's possible that the battery acid could have corrupted the system board in the remote. I would call Sony to see if they have any suggestions for you, however I think you may end up needing to replace the remote.

Please if possible come back to the question here and rate it 4 thumbs. It looks like the answer helped you, but for some reason it doesn't rate it 4 thumbs unless you come back a second time and specify 4 out of 4 thumbs. I hope you will do this for me. Thanks Tim

How do you clean the dirt/food "in between" the glass in the bottom oven door

Open the oven door. In the inside you will see a number of screws along the edge of the door. Unscrew them and you will find that you can lift/split the inner panel from the outer panel. If it sticks look for more screws at the side of the door to make sure that all the screws are removed. Lift the inner panel carefully an you will have access to the "inside" of the glass panel. Re assemble by reversing the procedure.

My clean light is flashing during the cleaning and then the dishwasher stops

The blinking clean light is an interruption in the dishwasher program that either indicates a malfunction, or it can be a simple glitch. The following link explains how you may be able to clear the blinking clean light problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r417123-blinking_clean_light_kenmore_whirlpool

Now, keep in mind all dishwashers are not alike and have different panel options. If you do not have the same set up that I have mentioned, the tech sheet for your dishwasher will explain the touch pad functions. The tech sheet is located behind the lower toe panel under the door and lists the proper sequence of buttons to push for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Just remove the screws that hold the panel in place and remove.

NOTE: Sometimes the tech sheet is located behind the inner door panel. You will need to remove the screws securing the inner panel to access it if this is the case. Make sure you turn off the main power breaker before doing so.

I have often found this to be a momentary glitch in operation. However, if the problem keeps reoccuring the number of flashes is an indication of WHICH circuit is causing your problem. You will need to refer to your tech sheet to determine this.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you solve your problem.

How to Clean the inner part of the glass for scanning

Generally you should not have to clean the underside of the glass unless you are in a high dust environment. This would require disassembly of most of the printer itself. The glass is held in by double-sided tape or a bead of glue, so don't try to remove the glass sheet itself.

The easy part is the beginning, removing the scanner cover. Next you will have to locate screws around the outside and start taking panels off. Keep note of the panels and the screws. After the side panels are off, there should be a set of screws around the scanner itself that hold the scanner and plastic casing with the scanner glass. Once those are removed, the scanner glass with its frame should be able to be removed. From there you can use whatever you would like for glass cleaning, make sure it is streak free.

Older scanners make this easier. Most of them are 4-6 screws and the top half pops off and can be easily cleaned. A multifunction isn't so fun in this sense.

Hope this helps!

How do I remove the inner glass sheet from my oven to clean it

Remove the oven door first. There are usually 2 release tabs to flip up at the door hinges. Lift off and set on a flat surface. Then remove screws to separate the inner and outer door panels. Remove more screws and brackets until you access the glass you want to get to.

GE XL1800 Door

OK, I'm no handy man and I just figured out how to do this. Open the door and remove the black plastic cover surrounding the inside glass. I used a regular flat head screw driver to pop this out.

Now I removed the 3 screws holding the inner panel against the glass on the front door. After removing the screws, the inner panel is held in place by a series of plastic clips. Go around the perimeter and pop the plastic clips out so the inner panel including the mesh comes out of the door.

Now you have complete access to clean the inside of the glass door!

I found it easier to do this operation with the door completely off the microwave, but you should be able to do this with the door in place too.
