Question about Apple iPhone 3G
I wish to transfer contacts from my Samsung phone to a PC, and then on to my new phone.
Hello there, it is very difficult to do what you are describing, you can back up your contacts to your PC but it will be in a different format then the new phone can recognize and accept.
What you will want to do is take both phones into your service provider (AT&T, Verizon, etc...) and ask them to do a data transfer for you. This is a very common request and something they do for free for all of their customers. People upgrade and change phones every day so they will know exactly what it is you are wanting to do.
For you to do this on your own you will need a transfer kit that is compatible with both phones, they are very expensive but that is why your local service provider store will have one. They use it for everyone's phone, it's just not feasible for the consumer to own one of these devices.
So sorry about that, hope this helps!
