SOURCE: I want to remove the 4gpm pump on my pressure washer.

HI, It sounds like it is just stuck on the keyway as these can be very tight. You need to force the pump of evenly on either side and should come of if patient.

Testimonial: "I'm sure the answer is correct. Over time my use of harsh chemicals no doubt corroded the key-way."

SOURCE: gx340 honda engine starts first

Adjust your needle valve. Default value is normally one and one/half turn open from closed. Do not jam either way ... it is delicate and subject to damage. When you get it started, you may have to adjust it a little more one way or the other (open or closed).

What RPMis the max torque

the chart shows figures of 10.7 hp-8.0kw with a torque of 19.5 ft/lbs- 26.4nm at 2500rpms ( max net torque)
the chart shows gx390 is 11.7hp (8.7kw) but the torque is the same as the gx340
you can get these figures from world. honda com or by going google and typing in--torque range of honda gx 340 motor at max rpms
10 hp engines running at 2500 rpms will be good for gensets of 5kw continuous out put as most makes run that size engine

I have a Honda EP5000 Generator set with GX340 engine, the problem is that too much oil is discharging from OHV cover into the Air Cleaner via that rubber pipe and spilling out from it. Engine also smokes...

Hi,the quick, but not final fix for this issue is to use a oil additive similar the one-s from the cars, but make sure you are using the one required by the fuel type. The engine is worn out, needs overhaul, soon or later.Good luck, regards

Motorturns over hard with pullstarter on my gx340 pressurewasher

You have a nice setup, lots of power. The honda gx340 has a compression release built into the engine so it should be relatively easy to start. With the pressure pump under load however, it will be very hard to pull the rope. With water connected hold spray gun open so water is running out tip and pull rope to start (for easy start, remove tip from gun) . If it still feels very hard to pull rope while holding gun open, most likely problem with lubrication in pump or engine valves are not adjusted correctly preventing compression release. If you suspect problem, go to store where you purchased the unit or any store that sells gx340 and pull the rope to get a feel of what force is required to start engine and compare to yours. Good luck.

How to remove generator from engine (model DGUH5S-2). 11 horsepower Honda engine.GX340 .

I have not worked on Dunlite generators, however have worked on many different brands using the GX340. When removing generator parts, one must keep in mind the brushes contacting the armature. Remove brush pack if any and set to side. Next unplug stator wiring making sure to draw diagram of connections. Remove bolts mounting generator/stator housing to frame and carefuflly pull off leaving only armature /rotor on the crank of the engine. Remove the long bolt thru rotor into crank. Now you will need to apply penetrating oil to the shaft of the engine to loosen the rust on the taper. It may take several applications. Place a piece of hardwood against
metal to protect the rotor and firmly rap with hammer on
both sides. You may need to use pry bar against engine
and rotor as you hammer hardwood. Repeat as necessary,
some rotors will be very stuck due to rust. Be very
carefull with hammer and or prybars not to damage
windings. Have patience and let oil work. Good luck.
