Depending on how good you are, you could try debugging or trying to find why the exe file isnt running. best solution usually is to get rid and re install it, or just get rid and let windows do things. ive turned mine off cos its lets just say, less than recommendable.

control panel then ad or remove hardware for XP or programs and features for Vista. remove it. if you do wish to continue using the program it can be re downloaded from the acer site free of charge. nice and easy exe install package. i would say that there isnt really much point in using it unless you go to a great amount of different networks regulary

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Why wont my acer netbook allow me to enter the network centre or to connect to virgin internet either wired or wireless. i'm running linux lite not windows

go to the command line and type ifconfig

find the network adapter you are trying to connect with likely eth0 or eth1 if ethernet or wlan0 for wifi

then type

dhclient wlan0 (or whatever adapter you're using.)

if this doesn't give you an ip address, the virgin internet access point may not play nice with linux.

My Acer aspire one wont start into normal windows, only safemode

Did your system come with any software? I know when I bought my aspireone it did not. However, You can purchase a thumbdrive with at least 4 gb of space and if you have a copy of windows xp of the same version as that which is loaded on your aspireone (should be windows xp home edition) and you can use a program like magicISO to create a copy of the windows xp cd onto the thumbdrive.

Hope this helps, and I would be more than happy to give you more specific support as needed.

Good Luck!

unplug all external devices and verify wireless internet is working because it should not be!

fix:
===
CTRL-ALT-T to open terminal screen

type: rm -rf ~/.gconf/system/networking
it delete network files and resets

re-start A1 and the net will start to initialize
You have to re-do the wifi stuff, password, etc. again to get it to work
