Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I played a new CD in my 2004 Volvo S80 and now it won't eject it from the CD Player, it's a factory radio/CD player. It attempts to eject giving me a message "Ejecting" but after it can't eject the CD it gives me a message that says "Error", please give me some advice on this problem.

What is wrong with my 96 Volvo 850 cd player (no disc changer)?

The motors for the eject tend to strip out (several very small plastic gears. Hopefully this is not the problem because it is impossible to find parts. The other option is that dust/dirt have built up inside and the sensor does not feel/see the disk you are trying to insert. Use a can of compressed air (office store - sold to clean computer keyboards, printers, ...). Spray into the cd slot to remove dust.

You must remove the CD player from the dash and send it out for repair by a factory approved repair center. Parts and repair info is not made available to the public by any manufacturer.

6 disk cd player error

This is a part failure in the mechanism that loads and ejects the disk, there are no repair manuals avail to either the tech or the consumer, the only place that the factory gives this info and parts to are factory authorized repair stations, bottom line you must pull the deck and contact a Ford dealer in your area for location of the nearest factory repair station. I was dealer tech for 20 years and that is how it is done.
